RE: Pleasure Way or Roadtrek

i currently own a 2004 roadtrek C190V. and ive previously owned a 1999 dodge 170p. Having said that, I will say its amazing how my preferences have changed in 10 years. Ive been a "trekker" for over 10 years now and i will say that im currently in the process of jumping ship to the pleasureway. For the most part, those shopping for one will/should choose the floorplan that works for them. I am looking at the Ford Excel because its the roomiest of the class Bs even compared to the Roadtrek 210. headroom, elbow room, walking around room, perception of openess.
Fit and finish in my humble opinion is much better in the pleasureway. if you look at the seams. or under the countertop in the roadtrek looks very spacey and unfinished.
i know some will complain about the room around the driver and passenger areas in the excel and they have valid points.
some will also complain about the handling of the excel but those have been improved and are able to fix to your liking.
overall i recommend that you sit, drive and spend time in the units your looking for. like i said i loved the versatile plan and as times have changed i now am looking at the excel because it fits my use ...................................for now. Good luck

RE: Commode Issues

sometimes there will be calcium buildup in the commode pipes that will block the flow. sometimes it builds up in the sink faucet screen thing. unscrew the spout piece and see if you have little white pebbles of calcium. if you do then its a good chance that those pebbles are built up in your commode.
good luck

RE: hw mch wld you realistically pay for a '04 RT w/140k miles

>>Whether it has 100k or 140k, value will be pretty consistent. Plus, if you look in the automotive version of NADA, which takes mileage up to 150,000 the difference between 100k and 140k on an '04 is about $875 (picking a Class II vehicle just as an example). <<
well thats the kind of info that im looking for. Is that how you would devalue beyond the 100K?
if the entire vehicle looks and works great with the only derogatory mark are the mileage would $875 be enough to cover the rest of the 40k?

RE: hw mch wld you realistically pay for a '04 RT w/140k miles

the vehicle was used for work from OC to LA commuting miles. been serviced at one spot with all records.
would it change anything if i replaced the engine and tranny.
NOT that theres anything wrong with the current one.

turninghawk-NADA guidelines provide for mileage up to 100K only.

THIS IS NOT AN AD!!!!!!!
maybe 3rd time is a charm
just trying to get an idea, as NADA and anything else for that matter has no guidelines for this.

RE: RT vs. PW

i had a 99 dodge 170p and now currently own a 04 chvy 190v. ironically im doing the opposite of you. im interested in PW. either excel or chvy with the enclosed bath. i love the ultra leather and IMHO think that pW feels more finished. we will see how it goes. good luck

RE: Stopped at McMahon's in Irvine to look at B's today

have you tried the winnebago view or similar with the bunk beds at the rear. it drives damn near like a van. and might fit your application.good mileage too with the sprinter diesel.

RE: Can I do Yoga in an Airstream Interstate or Roadtrek?

i think that you would be able to do most of the poses depending on how tall you are. the typical yoga "mat" is around the same size as most class b's center aisle. you might have to modify some for the height ie arms above head etc.
good luck

RE: PW plateau ?s

i recently added a macerator to my 04 190 versatile and to tell you the truth, i liked the older way better.
1. macerator fuse has gone out several times
2. macerator sometimes shuts off for a minute before resuming
3. if macerator burns out ( like it did a month ago) i was unable to dump my tanks
if i had the option of dumping the original way and having the macerator that would be the best way to go. i guess have your cake and eat it too!
anyway thats been my experience ! good luck

RE: 4x4 Sprinter

i spoke with craig at Salem several times and he stated that to retro a roadtrek or pleasureway sprinter model would be around 18k.
i dont see why they cant retro the winnie view.

RE: 4x4 Sprinter

salem charges 18k and they will convert a roadtrek, pleasureway etc. but youll have to really want it cause thats a steep figure. outch
If $18k is steep and ouch, what does that make this?
At this time, it is estimated the Sportsvans™ 4x4 Conversions will start at $27,000 depending on the Euro to Dollar exchange, your configuration and any added options. \
out of there minds
