RE: coach light

I had the same mystery light and mystery switch on one of my motorhomes. seemed like it was a switch on the dash that turned it on.
also had a switch in the compartment.

RE: Do Private Campgrounds Cost More?

why do people continue to insist on comparing apples to oranges. compare campgrounds with FHU to those with FHU, those with electricity only to electric only, etc. To compare a resort type facility to a mud hole in the woods is somewhat foolish, but that's JMHO.

RE: Towing a vehicle

Thanks. Do your front wheels turn left and right when you tow? When I talked to the service manager at my local GMC, he thought they didn't need to since the towed vehicle would be following the MH just like a trailer does a TV. I'm thinking of getting a tow bar that attached to a hitch and ball on the RV (the StowMaster from Roadmaster), so that sort of made sense.
Judy
IMHO, don't get a ball type of hitch/bar. get one that stays on the back of the motorhome like an aventa II that has levers to release it.

RE: Adding battery?

most a g m batteries can be mounted inside and even upside down
I'd be interested in the construction of a battery box designed for an upside down battery. :)

RE: Q: How to transfer gray water into black tank

My reason for wanting to do this is to get more water into the black tank for dumping. I prefer to empty the tanks after a campng weekend and more times than not, there just isn't much in the black tank.
that is why I like my black tank spray nozzle on the side of the tank opposite the drain. I can drain at my convenience whenever and where ever I want to. actually probably cheaper than cobbling up a transfer system.

RE: Jayco 23J layout - Problem with stove layout?

Why wouldn't you? Don't you value a flush mounting a/c unit and the ability to set a temp and have the unit cycle on/off automatically? I find that very convenient regardless of trailer length! Also, the crowned roof sheds water where as the Jayfeathers flat roof holds water and snowmelt in the winter. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.
the cycle on/off part, yes. the air distribution part, no.

RE: I need some help with all these towing numbers

what does your truck actually weigh? if the TT weighs 5060 dry it will weigh 6060 wet with some stuff, leaving you 12,500 - 6060 =6440 for the truck wt with load/passengers,etc. could really skimp on loading the TT.
many other issues but this is a start.

in a 23 ft RV I don't think ducted air would be high on my list of priorities.

I can walk on my fiberglass roof. don't know any that you can't.

RE: Turn signal doesn't work

Bumpy there is one bulb and the light works but the signal part doesn't neither does the brake light when pressed.
there are two filaments in the bulb, one could be burned out, the other one good. the stop and turn light are the "brighter" filament.

Suggest Krylon Fusion for the plastic AC cover or plastic parts. .

RE: Adding a jack for a TV

You might also investigate a wireless solution. More expensive than a direct cable, but much easier.
If you use one of these with a VCR/DVDR be aware that you are transmitting what you are watching around the neighborhood. I received a TV program from the daughter's on my back up camera in the toad while I was in the car in her carport. :)

RE: Jayco 23J layout - Problem with stove layout?

I should add that for all of the RVs I have bought, one of my first additions is a plexiglass backsplash behind the stove held up with velcro dots to keep the wallpaper/etc. grease free.
that linked shield is similar to the one on my RV.
Much ado over nothing, IMHO.

RE: Dumping Blackwater

If only used for urine, can dump it every day or whenever you dump the grey tank. if you have a black tank sprayer nozzle on the side of the tank you can pretty much dump it at your convenience also.

RE: Jayco 23J layout - Problem with stove layout?

my winnebago motorhome is similar and it came with a plexiglass baffle between them. could check out winnie parts lists but I am sure you could do cheaper elsewhere.
