RE: Lumpy

Sorry to hear of babies problems.
IMO when it is time, just ask a local vet. They will know. That is our plan, as we travel with a 15+ year old GSD. You can't leave them home. In fact our GSD will lie between TV and TT to be sure she goes. Sometimes she almost crawls to get there. Heartbreaking to watch, but the eyes are still bright, and she still wants to go.
You HAVE to take him. No other choice except everyone to stay home.

RE: brushing teeth

Even hard biscuits seem to help. There is also a powder that you can sprinkle on their food. Works for our GSD.

I always changed the rod when winterizing. Too cheap to reuse IMO.

RE: Propane tank leak?

Call and ask a propane supplier like Suburban Propane. I would not be surprised if they said not to worry about it as long as it only leaks that way.

RE: WHAT'S YOUR IDEAL MOTOR HOME / RV CAMP GROUND.......

Full hookups, pullthrus, room for wifes 8' handicap ramp in front of TT door (so wide and flat space). Level enough I need not use Lynx Leveler blocks. A fenced area to walk dogs in is a plus. If mud is an issue, graveled. Shaded is a plus, as is grass.
Clean showers, wide enough for handicap usage. No stairs to showers, or to little store selling a few meal things (cans are fine, just so we can get something if we've run out).
Proper CG wiring so the use of an autoformer to get enough voltage is unneeded, even when park is full.
Extra addon fee for WiFi and cable. CG's that say it's free are lying, they just make everyone pay for it even if they do not want it.
At least ten miles away from any Interstate.
Not right next to railroad line. We joke that all KOA's have a train!
A few brochures telling us what is around that a tourist might want to see.
I'm sure there is a lot I've forgotten, but that is a start.

RE: Additives In Dog Food…

No need for grain, it is just used as a filler. IMO all the top brands of dogfood have ZERO grain. That is why they cost more.
Our 15+ year old German Shepherd loves her food, and no grains in it.

Nobody ever asked us that. As said, our homeowners insurance covers it. We HAVE been asked for proof of shots several times.

RE: anybody have a Casita??

We used a 16' Casita for a number of years (we traded for a HTTTH when wife needed a handicap scooter to get around). We loved it. Had everything the huge heavy trailers have except no generator. Bet we would still have it had wife not needed scooter. On 13' you don't get a real bathroom, but 16' and 17' had flush toilet and shower. Not sure what above poster meant.
We used ours down to 15 to 20 degrees F with no trouble. We did need to put UltraHeat tape on waste pipes, but we did that on our current HTTTH as well.
It sure did tow easy. Questions, send me a pm.

RE: What sway control device should I go with on New TT

I love my Equal-i-zer. Reese Dual Cam would be my second choice, but I hate chains, which Equal-i-zer doesn't need or use.
I had a friction sway bar once. It worked, but was a pain as I needed to play with it a lot. Never again thanks.

RE: Restrictions on liquid oxygen .... from Apria ..so far

One point. Someone mentioned using puffer unit (puts out a puff of O2 when you breath). PLEASE PLEASE check with your doctor on that for night time.
My wife was told to NEVER EVER USE PUFFER MODE WHILE SLEEPING. Doctor said you breath different when asleep, and you could stop getting any O2.
FYI her Eclipse, if set to puffer (some call conserve?) mode WILL go over to continuous mode all by itself if my wife happens to nod off on a trip. It has happened several times. How does it know to switch? It thinks she has stopped breathing!!!!!!

RE: The effects of uncontrolled sway.

No, DO NOT let off on gas as that makes sway WORSE. Hold gas steady, or speed up slightly. Then put brake controller emergency slide full on and hold it there, then slowly let off gas. During all this DO NOT hit TV brakes. TT brakes will stop sway, and slow you down. Then let off emergency brake controller override, Then gently put on TV brakes, pull off road, change shorts.
Been there, done that, worked for me. Now I have an Equal-i-zer.

RE: Basic lumber assortment for leveling

I carry two sets of plastic legos. It takes more than one set to get front tire off ground using block ramp under rear tire, if I get a flat.
I carry a Rotochok to put between tires that are up on blocks. Tires on ground just get plastic wedges.

RE: The effects of uncontrolled sway.

It really does happen, hope all doubters read this thread.
IMO sway control is a good idea because someday you may be coming fast down a hill, in a crosswind, when a big semi goes by really fast. Friends of ours had towed for years without sway control when above happened to them. Fortunately nobody was coming other way as they lost it and rolled everything several times. TT and TV totaled, pieces blocked both lanes, but no permanent injuries.
If sway starts you have only a few seconds to remember NOT to touch the TV brake, but to use the override on the brake controller to straighten the whole mess out. Yes that will always work and stop any sway if you are quick enough, but I don't believe in tempting the Gods.
Be careful out there.

RE: Bean Bag Mount for Garmin Nuvi?

Beamer is a motorcycle, Bimmer is a car, both made by BMW.
Windshield on our Bimmer is fine for driving, but not really big enough to put anything blocking our vision. Just our opinion.

Never had doors come open. Does your 5er have shocks? If not, can you add them?
We don't put anything between dishes, but only carry a few. We did put antislide stuff on cabinet bottoms.

As above, better pull the drum. Likely a shoe has all pad gone, or metal piece caught. Hopefully not a bearing.
