RE: Single Serve Desserts

Sounds good!
I have made single serving banana pudding and coconut cream pie using vanilla wafers (whole of crushed)instead of a crust.
I made them in clear plastic drinking cups and layered them like a trifle. To keep them from falling over in the RV frig while traveling I stood them up in a muffin tin. They were easy to serve out of the tin too.
Both recipes are good. Do a search on my recipe for Banana pudding or coconut cream pie to find the recipe here on this forum.
I think any trifle recipe or even some pudding, cool whip and crushed cookies could be layered in a clear plastic cup for individual servings. They look real nice when served and no fuss at camp. I cover mine with Glad "Press & Seal" that stuff works great!
I'm not sure how well these would freeze though.

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Good Moanday morning and happy Cyber Monday! I might participate in Cyber Monday. We shall see.
Sorry I didn't log onto RV.net yesterday. We didn't get home until almost noon. After unloading the 5er and doing all the laundry, we went out and ran some errands. After that I was busy doing chores around the house. Before I knew it the day was gone!
Linda, great pics, you are a head of me. Maybe tonight I can at least upload all my pics and put together a slide show. The turkey and the pork roast looked YUMMY!!!
Lee, glad you all made it home safe and sound. We have our fingers and everything else crossed for Brianna! Keep us posted. And yes, I will start collecting money very soon. I will most likely post here and send an email out since we have so many who haven't been following the thread.
Rick & Cherie, good to see you posting Cherie, safe travels to you both. Where are you off to next?
Terry, the snow at Shaver sounds beautiful!
Jill, I retired my dancing shoes years ago, but I'm happy to watch. Ya never know when someone is going to swirl and dip and drop their partner :E and I'll be there with camera in hand of course!
Have a good day all!

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Greetings from Coyote Lake again!
It rained off and on yesterday, not hard, but enough to get everything wet! Today is nothing but blue skies, no clouds at all. That is because the wind blew them all away!!!
It was really windy here last night. Ray & I got up in the middle of the night, took down our string of lights so we could take down the awning.
Tracey, enjoy your nieces and I hope you have a nice visit with your MIL. 5 weeks is a long time for company to stay!!
Lee, and anyone else on the road today, safe travels. We go home tomorrow. I am sure we will leave before Rose & Newton are even out of bed!
Have a good day all !!!!

RE: Northern CA.. Thanksgiving rally Nov. 25-29-2009 Red Bluff

Sounds like you all are having a great time. Wish we could be there too. I really want to stay at the Durango RV Resort, looks like a real nice place!
Ray & I, Bruce & Soon, Newton & Rose, stayed a little bit closer to home and are camped at Coyote Lake. Ray & I haven't camped here in probably 25 years. We were tent campers then. It sure has changed. There are about 20 new sites with 50 AMP service too!
Anyway, you guys have a great time!

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Good morning and happy black Friday. Sure glad I am not one of those fools out shopping at 4 AM!!
Our TG dinner was great, the turkey was moist and tender! Rose & Newton fixed a ham that had a wonderful glaze on it. We had all the trimmings too, complete with pumpkin pie for dessert!
There was nine of us at the dinner table, all of Bruce & Soon's kids were here except Kimberly who had to be at work at Walmart at 3 PM.
Jill, tell Ray's brother that there were more wild turkeys in our campsite this morning.
Sherry, we haven't seen the wild pigs yet, but we have our fingers crossed. However, we have seen the damage they have done to the ground rooting for acorns.
It was just beautiful here yesterday, but it rained last night while we were sleeping and it's overcast this morning. The weatherman is promising great weather tomorrow.
Have a good day all!

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Happy Humpday!! It's my Friday and I am off at noon today. Whoppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
The 5er is all packed and ready to go as soon as I get home from work this afternoon. It's got quite a load on it too! We are off to Coyote Lake, in the hills beyond Gilroy. If you are in that neck of the woods in the next couple of days, come on by! I'd say come and camp with us, but the last time I looked, there were no more camp sites available.
Not one person was camping last weekend when we went to go check out the campground.
Linda, thanks for the Good Sam Facebook link, this must be what Tahiti Ray was referring to.
Not sure if we have cell phone reception at Coyote Lake, so Bruce's air card may not work, so it's doubtful that I will have I-Net connection until we return on Sunday. So keep the thread alive while I am gone.
Have a good day all!

RE: Brown Sugar Turkey Brine

Helen_Wheels
Brining is essentially what Butterball has been doing for decades. It’s not necessary to brine a Butterball turkey or any other turkey that has been plumped with a salted, season solution, such as a kosher bird. Be sure to read the label. The turkey and the drippings can become too salty.

RE: co-ordinating a rally

About 6 years ago we were camping at San Antonio Lake. We visited the Harris Creek Group Camping area. I started dreaming then about planning a rally, even though I had never been to one. Unfortunately I didn't know 10 people with an RV (must have 10 rigs to qualify as a group at most campgrounds).
Just for an example the very 1st CA Rally was held in Plymouth CA and Campingshadow was the instigator..Not one of us had ever met each other but we ended up with about 40 rigs. Most all of us are still rallying to this day. At my brother's suggestion, we attended this rally. I realized then, that I now had access to more than 10 rigs! Fast forward 5 years and 12 SAL rallies later. As does the MM and the Fool's rally too.
As Kathie stated, "If you plan it........they will come"
Tahiti Ray, just know that where ever you plan it, that each campground is different in their requirements and amenities.
So jump in there and get your feet wet!
Good luck!

RID-X® has not been tested on recreational vehicles (RVs). therefore we cannot recommend using it in RVs.

RE: Cleaning out fresh water tank

To disinfect the tank, prepare a solution of 1 gallon of water to 1/4 cup of plain chlorine bleach. With the tank empty, use a fill spout to pour in 1 gallon of solution for each 15 gallons of capacity.
Once the water tank is full, open all faucets, both hot and cold, and let the water run until you can smell bleach coming from the faucet. Shut off all faucets and let the water remain in the tank and the system for 3 hours.
After three hours, drain the enter system. Then fill with fresh water.
If a chlorine taste remains in the water prepare a solution of 1-quart vinegar to 5 gallons of water. Pour the solution into the fresh water tank and fill it with water. Let the solution set over night or drive the rig around to agitate the mixture. Flush and drain, then fill with fresh water.
