RE: You Know You Live in a Small Town When...

When you get in trouble for THINKING of doing something --- and you find out it's because the neighbors have called your mother and ratted on you. (trust me on this, I grew up in a small town)

RE: Think he got fired?

It's called warehouse reorganization. Considering the amount of collaps I would say that the structional integrity of the shelving system needs to be investigated. TOO FLIMSY. I made the same statement to my DH who used to work in a warehouse like that. He pointed out that the jitney bent the first upright and there was no hope after that. He said even bolting the shelving into the cement wouldn't have helped in that situation. Yes, very thankful no customers at that time and YES, he should have been fired. DH said at his workplace, it would have been immediate suspension.

RE: Algodones -Implant Dentist Recommendations

A friend of mine goes to Algodonas for dental work and HIGHLY recommends Yasmin Carvajal. Although I haven't gotten implants (nor seen her yet), my friend has. The dentist's website is here: LINK.

RE: 3 year old terrorists

I never negotiate with children....their little minds can't wrap around that kind of discussion. I state the rules and they follow them or they leave.....yes, even my own! LOL Seriously, I DO have people that come over with children. From the time I had my first home, I would see the child do something they shouldn't do, I would stop the child and inform the parent AND child that it is unacceptable behavior in my home. I also tell them I will discipline them the same way I discipline my own children. If the parents don't like it, they can leave, I don't want terrorists in my home anyway. As for grandchildren.....I have 11 and I have no problem with them following the rules.

RE: Satellite TV in rain?

We get heavy rain about 2 times a year and we sometimes lose the reception. Heavy snow WILL cut the service. We just learned to go out and sweep the dish off.

RE: Couple suing WalMart over pictures

Outrageous! The Walmart employee, the police that were called and the CPS employee totally over-reacted. I'm surprised at the police and CPS employee though --- you'd think they'd have had enough experience to know the difference between kids playing in the bathtub and porn! Many years ago, my son was playing in the pool. He reached over, grabbed an empty beer bottle and acted like he was drinking it. When I had the pictures developed they'd refused to develop that one!!! BUT they gave me the negative! I took the negative to another photoshop and had it developed.....just the be onery! LOL

RE: insurance cost

Insurance is determined by where you live, Age and kind of rig, your ages, your driving record and your credit report.....PERIOD. What other's pay will more than likely not come near what you will pay.

RE: What's the longest time YOU have left coach at the shop?

Three weeks. Went to pick it up and they tried to charge us $275.00 for doing caulking. We'd already checked out the rig and they'd hadn't done the caulking. Never went back.

RE: Health Insurance scam or did I do something bad?

I think you dodged a problem. FYI EVERY insurance agent in Oregon has to be legally approved by the Insurance Commissioner to do business in Oregon. I believe, but not for sure, that that's true in other states. You can call and find out if he's legit or not. Same goes for insurance companies doing business in a state...

RE: Oregon-summer '10- trip planning help, please

Well, DesertHawk has been luckier than me!!!! I tried to get reservations for certain areas on the coast this year -- different weekends and couldn't get any! When I lived closer we'd drive over and things were always crowded....but that's been a few years ago. I highly recommend, besides the ones DesertHawk recommends, Fort Stevens west of Astoria.

RE: Jay Leno?

I was bored with it, too! I don't think Jay has hit his stride with it and the car wash scene had some obscene moves - I didn't like it. I didn't stay on for that rapper...I hate rap. I went back to Public Broadcasting and watched the special on Carol Burnett. :B I've asked myself many times today ---- what was so different from his Tonight show??? He didn't have the desk..............what else? I thought this was to be something new and different.

RE: Could you or couldn't you?

ROL! No, I couldn't either. Reminds me of the time a co-worker's sister brought her a cat shaped, chocolate frosted cake for her birthday. Unfortunately, it was a very hot day and the sister had to drive 1 1/2 hours to bring it. Co-worker was so proud of it ----but it had melted to ugh! She asked one of the other co-workers what he thought it was. He responded --- "Road kill".....ROLMAO! I thought she was going to "road kill" him!

RE: Family horrified after restaurant bill

The food prices are about what we pay here....in fact, less than what we'd pay here for the same thing! So I don't understand the comments on the cost. I was over there last year and found that the price of restaurant meals was about the same as here except that with a 2-1 dollar to pound exchange rate , it was more expensive. I can remember stopping at a Motorway 'greasy spoon' and seeing bacon & eggs for $20! I know that you can pay $18 here for chicken fajitas, but we normally pay less than that. Well -I'm embarrassed!!! I converted the wrong way! Yes, the $8.95 frajitas convert to $14.95 USD. hmmmmmmm well, we DO spend that much on ocassion but not as a rule...ESPECIALLY when we have kids with us.
