RE: Welcome Jeep to the market!!!

Kinda Cool, but I wish that Jeep would stick to what it knows best.
Making offroad capable vehicles.
No need to worry. This is not made by Jeep. It is made by Livin Lite and licensed to use the Jeep name. You'll probably see them sitting in a Jeep showroom somewhere, however. It's a win-win for Jeep and Livin Lite.
As a proud Jeep owner for many years, I'm glad Jeep continues to make very capable off-road vehicles. As a Livin Lite owner as well, I'm glad to see this company branching out by offering something to a multitude of customers.

RE: Need advice on purchase of new GPS

None will be totally accurate. It doesn't matter which brand you buy.
We are currently using TomTom and Garmin GPS units in different vehicles. I like them both but for different reasons. Each has unique features. I wish the best features of both could be put into one model.
You will not find a perfect GPS but they will all get you from A to B. You just have to find one with the features you like the best and go with it.

RE: Did someone finally do it right?

I ordered our Livin Lite camper based solely on factory website photos. When I arrived at the dealership to take delivery I was pleasantly surprised. The quality exceeded my expectations. Photos on the website don't begin to reveal how well-constructed their products are.
There's nothing to rot or warp...ever. Even though we haven't experienced any leaks, there's nothing that can be damaged by water anyway. You can hose down the interior if you so desire.
Some of the negative comments I've read in this thread I attribute to misinformation and an unfamiliarity with Livin Lite products. Even if you're not interested in anything Livin Lite offers you might appreciate what the owner is trying to do.
I was thrilled when I stumbled across these campers. We wanted a popup that we could tow behind a Jeep for kayaking trips and gaining access to tight areas. I was disappointed in the offerings from the major manufacturers. They were either too heavy for a Jeep or too cheaply constructed. Mostly just******waiting for an opportunity to break.
I'm happy Livin Lite is bringing out new models. They recently moved into a brand new factory. There's a waiting list for factory orders. They are profitable even in this economy. They must be doing something right. Most of the so-called "negative comments" in this thread are directed at the hardwall TC model which is not built the same as your pop-up trailer (or their pop-up TC) and which does have some design issues. The company is also are not following the standard TC sizing convention (size based on floor length) so their specs are a little misleading. They apparently are using the campers overall length (their TT heritage I guess) and thus calling it a 10foot camper, while in reality it is a 6foot unit. The aluminum roof will transmit/amplify rain noise unless it has had some type of sound deadening material applied (adds weight).
While the TC does seem to be well made from a structural standpoint, as I mentioned previously they have exceeded the load capacity of their target vehicles even before any necessary supplies are loaded for a trip. This might be another bleed over from their TT background in that they may have confused towing-capacity with carrying-capacity as so many people seem to do.
Their pop-up TC is a much better fit (weight wise) for the target vehicles. They do seem to have done a much better job matching their TTs to the intended tow vehicles capacities though.
Unless they have opened their books to you I don't see how you can state "they are profitable" as simply selling campers doesn't necessarily mean they are making a profit. Many big name brands were selling units right up until the day the doors closed.
Say what you will, but I feel Scott Tuttle, the owner who has an extensive rv background with other manufacturers, has excited the lightweight market. He hit a home run with his trailers and I'll be curious to see how this TC is accepted. While I haven't seen Scott's books I imagine the bank that gave him the money for a new building last year took a very close look at them.

RE: Topsail Hill pull through sites

Any of the pull-thrus are nice because the whole campground is top-notch. However, the pull-thrus in the 100 section are the most desirable and tend to get snatched up quickly.

RE: Gulf Shores and Possibly Destin Areas

For full-hook ups around Destin you can try to get into Topsail Hill State Park and Grayton Beach State Park. Check reserveamerica.com. There are privately owned parks as well but we don't use them so I can't comment.
The beaches in the FL panhandle are open and very active with locals and vacationers right now.

RE: GM almost lost a customer for good.

I had problems with 2 consecutive Chevy trucks. Both were under warranty.
The dealership kept putting me off and claimed they couldn't duplicate the problem. The final straw was when they claimed they had driven my truck around town and didn't notice anything wrong. They were at a loss for words when I pointed out that the mileage they recorded on the service ticket when I dropped it off was the same as when I came back to pick it up. They hadn't driven my truck at all.
I called GM's customer help line in the owner's manual and spoke with a girl who read from a script. She kept telling me all complaint's have to be worked through my dealership. When I told her my complaint was about the dealership she just kept reading the same lines over and over. She would not connect me with anyone else.
That was 1998. I have not purchased a Chevy truck since and never will in the future.

RE: Buyer Beware

I was warned that the only person to issue refunds was and had been out of the office for quite a while so my refund would be delayed.
Forget OrganizeIt!
I experienced the same thing purchasing tires online. The "refund person" always seemed to be away from his desk or out of the office entirely.

RE: Am I in Trouble?

I would check my bill carefully, it appears that their computer is not always up to date with their sales. We have been over billed for items and service that was advertised at a sale price, and the computer billed us at the regular rate. They corrected the error, but if you don't catch it, you will pay the higher price.
Good luck.
And there lies a significant problem with CW. It's a very simple step to update a computer system to reflect sale prices. The fact that they don't and leave it to the customer to catch it is very telling.

RE: New truck, thanks to this forum

..he gets 12 to 13 MPG towing
did they take one of the axels off and make it a single.
If I got even 11 mpg towing I sing and dance. I get 9 now.
Yes, it's singled.
I was getting around 12 mpg with mine towing a Mobile Suites. Better than my Dodge CTD was getting towing a lighter trailer.
