Butterfield RV Park

Has anyone stayed at Butterfield RV Park in Benson City, AZ. And do you have any comments good or bad? This is now on my short list when I head south in March. If you have stayed there are they pet friendly? Thanks, John

RE: Can you use the leveling jacks for tire removal?

Welcome, to the post. When i was younger, I just block the tires and use a floor jack. If something should go wrong, while using my HWH's, I'm assuming my insurance would not cover it. I'm older now and have a bad back so I leave that to the tire guys. Good Luck, John

RE: When Is Windshield Crack Too Large?

When, I had my pick up truck at Novus the last time, I asked the glass guy the same question and he told me that when it's longer than a dollar bill there not much that they can do! John

RE: need your opinion or thoughts (awning)

If Carefree says that it was installed improperly I would get it in writing from them that that is the case and contact the company that installed it and have them repair it or install another one.
We too have this awning and absolutly love it.I agree with this post and if the Dealer/ Installer doesn't repair this awning properly, forward all your information to the Attn. Gen. in your State. John

RE: Thinking of selling my coach...Am I stupid?

What if you decide after 6 months that full timing is not for the two of you?
All you will show for it, is a newer coach and PAYMENTS.
Keep the paid for coach for awhile and try full timing in it.Denny, I think this is good advice! John

RE: Best Price on Michelin Tires

May I suggest you check with Sam's Club. That is where I bought my Michelin X2As at a price that was much better than anywhere else I checked. Both Sam's Club and Costco have some selections in the RV sizes. (Costco did not have the size I needed when I bought.) You have to ask and keep pressing them to check their catalog if they say no. This is sort of a new thing for Sam's.
But, I would further suggest that if you buy them there do not allow them to install them. Go to someone who really has the equipment and experience to handle the heavy load of an RV.BJ, I was in Costco the other day and they had a big sign up advertising a sale on Michelin tires! I never investigated it more than that. You might want to give them a call to find out if they have what you need. Rooster

RE: Rank the Class A GAS build quality

In my opinion it depends what mood the workers were in the day the coach was built. Because I own a Winnebago and like it, I in good conscience can't say it's better than any other coach! Every brand that's mentioned in this post has built lemons! Investigate throughly the coach you think that you like, going through craftsmanship and service records, then make a decision. The coach that I own is better than the coach you own is all about ego and serves no purpose. John

RE: Warning, be wary of the flu shot.

Another vote for "not on this forum". All you have done is add to the media induced panic that has spread across this nation. Your situation is a fluke. Unfortunate but a fluke. Glad you are recovering. It is not a media induced panic! What happened to Mr.Mark happens to people who use RX prescribed drugs every day. The pharmacist gives them a piece of paper telling them the side affects that are known. In the case of the flu shot, one may or may not be informed of the side effects. And many take your attitude. But one day will come when it hits them. I know because one day I came home and found DW sitting in the middle of the floor acting like a little baby. All because the doctor failed to inform us about a drug used during minor surgery. They said before the procedure, "oh, you will be fine, never remember a thing". Well she was one of those "one in a million people" who it affected differently. And she still pays for it today, all because someone failed to do their job properly. Just stuck a piece of paper in front of her and said "sign the dotted line and you will be fine".
Mr.Mark, sorry this happened to you with the flu shot. From now on demand to be informed before signing anything and taking anything.
And yes, this should be on the forum, because we travel in our motorhomes and may need medical treatment while traveling. We need to know what our rights are!!! It is called Informed Consent and is a medical legal term. Look it up!!! And if they fail to properly inform you, it is called Assult, and that is a crime! I also agree that this should be on the forum. My wife just got out of the hospital(3-days) she got sick 3 days after after getting her flu shot. What's even scarier is I didn't know what Guillain Barre was until reading other posts on Marks topic and she has symptoms of GBS. I don't understand some of you negative posters ie: not an RV subject or your scaring people! To be informed is knowledge and power. And Thank You Johnny T for letting this post stand! John

RE: Gawd, I am stoopud. First experience with tail swing.

John this tip my help you in the future don't start your turn until the object (example: mail box or if your in a dealers lot another coach) is visible in your rear view camera then turn. This does not apply when towing unless you can clearly see the back bumper of your toad. I learned that many years ago from an RV Dealer that told me when pulling out between two parked RV's (one on each side of you) keep going straight until you see the front bumper on the coach that is on either side of you then turn. Leaving your home in your Class A

I'm trying to be sneaky here because I don't want to go to any other of RV. Net topic pages except this one. So if your upset that this is not exactly Class A related, I'm asking for a little slack. I hope this doesn't bring another PM from Johhny T, maybe I can catch him sleeping? Can you please advise me what to turn off or on when your leaving your home during the winter. And, I live in the Pacific Northwest so it can get cold usually around 20 degrees when it's real cold and it's damp. I don't want to leave any lights on and I would like to know if I should turn off the hot water tank and shut the main water line off? I can't shut the electrical box off because I need to heat the house I was thinking about 50 degrees for inside temps for the house. Anything you suggest within reason will be helpful, I'm retiring March 31st and trying to get as much prep done as possible. Thanks John

RE: Info on Yarnell / Peeples Valley Az. area?

Sounds like you will like Peeples Valley better than Port Orchard. Consider:
Comparison Weather Facts
* Yarnell, AZ on average is warmer than Port Orchard, WA by 9°F.
* Yarnell, AZ recorded the highest temperature of 105°F in 1925.
* On average Yarnell, AZ is cooler than Port Orchard, WA by 5°F.
* The lowest temperature, -21°F in Yarnell, AZ, was recorded in 1937.
* On average, Port Orchard, WA is wetter than Yarnell, AZ by 34.8in.
..Good Luck....Dennis Thanks Dennis, I really enjoyed your posts over the years! I missed your post because we were typing at the same time. Were going to keep our home in Port Orchard and live there May thru October. I'm into warmth more than cold so I'm thinking of moving more west toward Quartzsite. John

RE: Info on Yarnell / Peeples Valley Az. area?

Congress has the Escapee's North Ranch. It's a co-op park with most sites leased but there are maybe 20 or so parking sites with hookups on a gravel lot with a few trees. $14.50 a night or $85 per week. Thanks Dan, I might have to change my plans and get closer ( west) toward Quartzsite. I would like to have a paved site with utilities, I need 50 amps to run the coach and, I'm looking to spend around $400.00 per month or less on a RV space. I would prefer to be in a small town or city where there's not a lot of people. I was driving through Yuma about a decade ago and passed an RV Park and there must of been 100 RV's 10 feet from each other! That's not my cup of tea. John

RE: Flat tow without removing battery fuse

Terry, I'm not advising you to do this, but I had the same instructions when I use to tow my Saturns (I owned 2 at different times) with all 4 down behind my coach. I never disconnected anything and only had my battery run down once, because I didn't run my toad's engine to charge up my battery after towing. Good Luck, John

RE: 2003 W22 Workhorse Brake Failure

I had a similar problem so I called workhorse toll free at 1-800-246-7731 and I talked to Erika Kuplicki at Workhorse. She told me to take my coach to a Workhorse Dealer for an inspection, then upon approval of that inspection the dealer would put new (old style calipers back in until the recall) brake parts in. I haven't done this yet, because I'm awaiting the recall! This is going to cost Bosch millions of $$$? John
