RE: Adding a Second Battery?

My current battery is wired with 10 gauge from the factory. That's why I thought that might be enough to connect it to the second battery. I also already have some 8 and 10 gauge wire that I could use without buying anything new. I may move the second battery directly over the original to shorten the distance of the wires then. An inline fuse is good idea. I take it I should put it on the positive side, what amp fuse should I use? As far as venting, that is a concern. I am confindent that I can completely seal the plastic box I bought. Then I would need to run a tube from it to the outside. I guess since hydrogen will rise, I won't be able to vent it to the other box. I'm not thrilled with drilling a hole in camper though.

Adding a Second Battery?

The battery that came with my camper is about dead. So I figured it would be a good time to add a second battery. Is it alright to use 10 gauge wire to connect the two batteries in parallel? I bought two batteries today and a battery box for the second battery. I'm going to mount it inside the camper near the stock battery, and vent it to stock battery compartment. Can anybody see any problems with this set-up? Or have any suggestions. Thanks. RE: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here

Some from this weekend near Redcliff, Colorado, in the White River National Forest. Very close to Camp Hale, if anyone knows where that is. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9d608b3127ccec7ae1a1f85ab00000040O00AbsWTZm1YuWIPbz4I/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9d608b3127ccec7aff3ac648800000040O00AbsWTZm1YuWIPbz4I/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/

RE: Wiring in a second battery?

If I was going to use an auxiliary battery outside the camper I'd hook it in with Anderson connectors. My camper has a storage compartment right next to the existing battery box so I put a plastic battery box in that compartment and paralleled the batteries with heavy pre-fab cable from the auto parts store. That's my plan too. A plastic battery box in the storage compartment next to orignal battery compartment. Just trying to find some inexpensive battery cables now.

RE: Ride Rite Air Bags - Is this right?

Glad you got it figured out. I'm installing Ride-Rites on my '99 Dodge Ram tomorrow morning. Hopefully it goes smoothly. How hard was it to install the stablelifts on your truck? Post a pick when you get it all together.

RE: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here

Just bought this pop-up camper yesterday. I built the frame mount tie downs for it. It's so light weight, I can't even tell it's back there, but it still had all the options that I was looking for. I'm excited to get out and use it a lot this summer. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9da24b3127ccec69ffd4590a300000040O00AbsWTZm1YuWIPbz4I/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9da24b3127ccec69f020b513a00000040O00AbsWTZm1YuWIPbz4I/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b9da24b3127ccec69eef5b31c800000040O00AbsWTZm1YuWIPbz4I/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/
