Hello Everyone...
Just think of the 2010 schedule as an extra Christmas Gift.
The past 2 years I have sent out notices VIA our Master List after the Holidays, less chance of it getting deleated.
Spring Jamboree is always held the weekend before Memorial Day.
Early Fall Jamboree is always held the 3rd weekend of September.
Late Fall Jamboree is always held the 3rd weekend in October.
If anyone want's to be notified and does not think they are on my E-Mail list just send be a Pvt.E-Mail with your addy, and I'll make sure you are on it.
Mikeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I will tease all of you by saying the Spring Jamboree will be held in North/Eastern Mass..

RE: Jamboree's for 2011

Hello Everyone,,,
Hi Jim&Cathie.
I just somehow knew You would chime in and want to do another Jamboree..I have gotten some very nice responses on my Computer when I eventually came home from your area, and asked to repeat it again..
You along with all the other WagonMasters have made it so pleasant to run these Jamboree's.

Jamboree's for 2011

Hello Everyone!!!
Are there any Truck Camping Groups in the Michigan/Ohio/Penn area that would be interested in doing a Co-Jamboree with the North-East Truck Camping Jamboree in either May-2011 or September-2011..
My 2010 schedule is booked solid and We are now looking at the 2011 Schedule..
With the very suscessful Jamboree ran by Jim&Cathy C. down in Carisle PA. this past September,My thinking is to maybe do one in the upper PA area sort of in the middle so either group does not have to drive more than 400 to 500 miles..
Please contact Me is there is any interrest.

RE: 2nd Annual North-East Truck Camping "Haunted" Jamboree

Hello Everyone...
Anne&Joe,,,The both of you will be missed big time..
I am packed and ready to go..My good friend Stoney lend me his Motorcycle Trailer and that made it so much easier to pack..
I bought a new tent to put up this year, its 20'x30' and has a lot more pipe and bracing to connect.. So no matter what the weather we will be snug and cosey.
I also brought my propane heater to keep things toasty..

They/Them/She/He. has volunteered to talk about their Camping and the Trips they took--- in and all around the good OL US of A...and a few other things as well...

RE: Fridge operation on Inverter - Camper Plug Wiring

Hello Everyone...
Hi Joe..
Here is the link to how I feed my power hungry Lance 1121---and My 2000 watt Inverted...
First set of pictures is the actually battery bank.
Second set of picture(scroll down) is the actually hook/up.
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/19027379/gotomsg/19029509.cfm#19029509
Hope this helps...
Also a good rule of thumb(sure I could come up with the exact formula) is for every 1 amp of 120volt power you use--you will need to produce 10 amps of D/C power..I'll look for the formula tomorrow..
Found it...
AC Watts divided by 12 x 1.1 = DC Amps
(this is the size vehicle alternator you would need to keep up with a specific load; for example, to keep up with a continuous draw of 1000 watts, you would need a 91 amp alternator)

RE: F350 Crew Cab Long Bed V10

Hello everyone...
I personaly would have a tough time going the Diesel route again..I run from time to time with 2 gassers.
First one is an 1999 Ford F350 -5.4 liter-standared cab-4x4-3.73 gears,carring a 1999Lance 1130. We just completed a 2300mile trip and the 5.4 average 9.5MPG over the entire trip---compared to my 12.2
The other trip was with the V10-4x4-extended cap-4.10 gears and also a Lance 1130.He average 8.8MPG over the entire trip...
So in essance the gassers get about 1/3 less economy than my Diesel, but add in that the gas is always cheeper up here in the North-East,AND last time I checked the Diesel option was over 9K---That 9k buys a LOT of Gas....Heck are not the Hp on the diesel and V10 close as well...
Thank gawd I got my 7.3 in 2002...With my twin additives--I can always squeese over 12 MPH with many times going over 12.5---carringing my heavy heavy Lance 1121 and my twin 8d battery bank, and all the other crapola I carry.(Good crapola I may add---LOL)

RE: Frig not cooling while traveling?

Hello Everyone...
Hi hcpgrammy
That D/C Heating Element draws around 19 Amps of D/C power. When plugged into Shore Power, your convertor happily produces that amperage and you get the full output of that element. You converter takes 120volt A/C power and converts it to 12volt D/C power. Most T/Cs have in the vinicity of a 45amp converter so you have plenty of D/C power left to power up other devices.
As many have posted on these forums, they just can't keep the refrigerator to stay cold on D/C operation.
Voltage drop!!!
Unlike an A/C system that can tolerate a drop of say 3 to 5 volts and nothing is affected,in your D/C system-You drop a measly 2 volts and you are in deep do-dooo.A 12 volt battery (because of internal resistance) will not charge till you get over say 13 volts. Now put a load like that 19 amp D/C Element on your system and wait 5 or so minuers for that element to fully get going and you will see around 12 volts at the T/C converter's D/C terminals. At this point you are drawing directly off you battery and not your Vehicals Charging system..in a few hours your battery is dead even thou you are driving down the highway at 60 miles a hour.

RE: Atwood Camper Jack Problem

Hello Everyone...
I suggest this at all my seminars..
Get some Dialetric Grease and squirt some into each connection that the Jack plugs into...Over time those copper prongs tend to crud up and lose conductivity..
I get mine at NAPA...

RE: Installing A Heat Strip

Hello Everyone...
I have the heat strip in my T/C and would not ever go with/out one.
Other than location,1500watts is 1500 watts no matter what device You have.Yes it comes out of the vents luke/warm at best but the darn thing works like a champ.
I have 120v heater pads under each my holding tanks, another one between the water tank and the exterior wall, and a 40 watt light bulb in the dump valve area.
In winter camping mode,I remover the 2 cabinet doors under the sink and the one in the bath on my Lance 1121.Along with the factory storm windows/and my thermal curtains over the windows,my Lance is rarely under 65 degrees. When I go camping in Jan and Feb,I will bring a small cube heater to supplement the heat strip, but usually it does not go on till its in the single digets.
I run full water and sewer at all times and have never had a freeze/up.Lowest temp I camped in was minus 12 degrees.
On a couple of occasions whe the dump station was frozen over,I ran my heat pads on 12 volt D/C till I got home and dumped.
