RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Our trip over I80 on Saturday was smooth! The sky was clear and Cal Trans had done a GREAT job clearing and prepping the road, Thank You Guys! We came back over yesterday evening, and the road was still clear. BUT the temps were dropping quickly as the sun went down and with melting snow running across the road, welllllll, it had a Black Ice "look" in it's future! So we were glad to be back on flat land. We had our "official" T-Day on Sunday, so on this Thursday we are BBQing tri tip with our girls. Have they finished the construction on I80? The last time I was on it? I thought it was going to shake everything apart.

RE: Need Help On Where To Stay In Yellowstone??

IMHO, Fishing Bridge, even with full hook up's is not a great campground. Small sites, no tables, no fire rings. Yes it is more centrally located than many of the other campgrounds in the park, but we never really felt like we were camping. This is true, BUT, we stayed there last year and the only time we were at the campground was to sleep. I set out a couple of chairs and I don't think we ever used them. It was nice to have hookups as it was rather cool in evenings and early morning so we could use the furnace when ever we needed without having to worry about generator hours allowing in the park. I personally like Madison on the West for campsites and view.

Well, we are supposed to be going to Reno today, but they had lots of snow over I80 yesterday, so wish us lots of luck. Steve has the chains and his overalls ready! Have a good weekend! Drive carefully and be safe.

RE: How does the US Gear Toad Brake System Work?

We like ours, saved my bacon a couple of times already. I have one module go out, but covered under warranty. Seamless braking when you need it.

Great campground, cafe right across the street at the marina. Lots of birds to watch. Downtown not very far away.

RE: ~Post your campsite photos here~

Nice pics Linda. Looks like you had a nice weather. Did you have to reserve that site months ago? Yes, we did, but there were several empty sites all weekend. The site next to us and across from us was empty.

RE: Where to find frozen boneless turkey in S Cal?

We have been looking all over for them, we used to buy them at VON's but they don't carry them anymore. Armor Gold Star boneless turkey. I think we will check out the local Walmarts. Thanks for the tip. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack thread.

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Durango looks like a nice park. We are going to be at Doheny SB on the beach. Close to home as Robin has go work Friday, so I will stay at the beach with the dogs and she will go to work. I know it will be a tough job but I think I can handle it. We are having Turkey and all the fixings, a friend is going to join us for dinner, can't wait. Robin is going to d-bone the Turkey before roasting, it then gets spread out on top of dressing in a cake pan and baked. YUM!! All that good stuff off the turkey ends up in the dressing. Hope everyone has a great T-day.

RE: Oil changes

My Ford V10 manual states every 7500 miles, I change every 5000 miles, based on what I believe to be extreme conditions, hot and towing a car.

RE: Does anyone use the storage under queen sized bed?

We use ours all the time, extra TP, paper towels, vaccum cleaner, extra blankets, sleeping bag. Great place to store overstock.

RE: Satellite radio-boom box?

We have the boombox and it works well. The long lead for the antenna helps to get reception. We use it to listen to baseball games mostly. We also have a cradle wired into the coach for traveling.

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

As long as we are talking cars. Not mine, boyfriends. 1957 Desoto, Chrysler 440 hemi with 4bbl holly carb and a push button auto on the left side of the steering wheel on the dash. Pasted everything but the gas station. Could burn rubber for a city block.:E Now if that doesn't date me.:R My first car was a 1958 Chevy, couldn't get out of its own way!! We are at South Carlsbad SB. Nice campground, overlooking the ocean from a bluff. No hookups but that's okay. Large campsites. Will post pics when I get home. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

RE: Mid CA SAL Rally - Feb 12th & 13th

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am leaving work at 11am and we are heading to South Carlbad SB for the weekend. Haven't been there before, so something new. Looks like a cool weather weekend for us. Lee let me know when the car comes in, maybe you will have to make two trips to Ca for deliveries!! :B All the vettes in everyones lives!!!! The only "vette" I saw in my younger days was in my dreams, nothing anywhere near a vette for this poor country girl.(maybe a hemi charger or two through):C

RE: Towing saturn Vue 2009

I don't own this car so forgive me for sounding silly, but could it be as simple as turning the light switch to "off" instead of "auto"? We have the 2008 and that's what we do. Once it is off "auto" the headlights operate just like manual ones do. The switch will toggle to the off position and then come back to the auto but the headlights will be off. This needs to be repeated each time you open the door. The switch in on the left side of the dash by your left knee. Hope this helps.
