RE: Warren Buffett and I have alot in common

BNSF-WB-RR, I like it. That would be BNSFBH...for Burington Northern-Santa Fe-Berkshire Hathaway. Berkshire Hathaway being Warren Buffet's holding company through which he has bought BNSF...and which also owns Forest River and Coachmen RV.-And 70 other companies or so.......give or take. :)

RE: Another stick house flooring question

Stained floors done right are great. See if your slab has any cracks when you get your flooring up. You may be surprised at the number of them, if you have a typical Texas slab with any amount of age to it.

RE: Help! Question about grouting porcelain tile

Check to see if he is licensed. In California, I think it's called a C-54. 3/16" grout joints may or may not be flush with the tile surface. Usually, they are not.

RE: parenting issue........

I would think that having a MySpace account for a youngster would be very socially important to them. I would talk to other parents and get their views on what age(s) they deem appropriate for their kids, and take it from there. Your kids may be crushed to not have MySpace accounts - as a non-parent, I just don't know. I think it may also be appropriate for you to have their username + password. That may be the lynch pin, and hotly contested by the young person. -Just reading now, so here is my first reaction to your original post.

RE: Texting?

If you are STOPPED at a light, is it still a driving(moving) violation?I sure don't know, but he was certainly 'operating a motor vehicle' on a public road. In that particular area I was drivng in, the county sheriffs/deputies and constables enforce the road laws like crazy, but naturally they can't be everywhere.

Texting?

Just venting.... I was sitting at a red light alongside a 20s something Bozo that was texting with two hands and thumbs, like it was going out of style. Even though he was in a pickup, my coach was taller as I was looking down at his thumbs going like crazy. He looked up at my slowly shaking head and frown, just as the light changed to green. We were both first in line on a very busy 6-lane parkway metro-loop. When will these Bozos figure out that texting while on the roadway operating a motor vehicle endangers others lives? Never, I'd venture. Edit spelling

RE: Could use some good thoughts for the kitties.. UPDATE Pg 2

Hissing was part of it when my little girl came home the afternoon after surgery in the morning. If you ask me, there should be some sort of follow-up pain medication that you can dispense once you get them home, and they become livid with the pain.

RE: Length of units

Whatever works for ya, is the way to go. I've had much bigger, but everything is a trade0ff - I've found over the past couple decades. My current unit is a 24.5' Class C turbodiesel motorcoach.

RE: Dallas Cowboys - what seems to be the problem?

Romo is one of those guys that plays mediocre for you but as soon as you trade him he would play like a superstar.I've always believed this too. For $67,000,000.00 I think Jerry has married Romo for the life of his usefulness.

RE: Getting RV Washed and Waxed::::

$550.00 is what a friend of mine paid for his 26' RV in Nacogdoches, Texas, a few months ago. That was to include a complete exterior fiberglass renewal. It was dull and was 10 yeras out in the weather.

RE: Full timing definition

I just have a quick question / clarification. When people refer to full timing, are they actually without a house and live all the time in their RV on the road and have no place to go back to?For some, and for others, they have one or more homes/lots arounbd the country and fulltime in their RV.

RE: Rockport vs RGV?

Been going to the RGV for ten plus years, but noticed on this forum that there are lots of smaller parks around Rockport and Aransas Pass. Would the Rockport/Aransas Pass area be as good as the RGV to spend a month or two in the winter? Any good restaurants in the Rockport area?Several around Rockport/Fulton - both RV parks & restaurants - although there is a new Walmart Supercenter and a new H.E.B - there is no Denny's or Waffle House - translation; you cannot get a restaurant-cooked breakfast after 11:00 a.m. Don't have any experience with Aransas.

RE: Vanishing Jobs

It seems the only safe jobs are to be on some sort of government-sponsored job, pension or retirement. All others are at risk - and even governemnt pensioners may get downsized in their benefits when municipalities, counties, states have to re-organize or go bankrupt because they cannot meet their promised obligations. There's just less money in circulation, and downsizing is continuing at every level I've heard about. At least that's some of the view I've noticed recently.
