RE: Ever Been Asked to Leave?

One year, when going to Klamath for Salmon fishing, we stopped at the Long's or Rite-Aid in Willits and spent lots of money in the store on stuff we didn't really need, unhooked and went to Burger King and came back and hooked up and spent the night.
The next morning, when we woke up and were getting ready to leave, about 6AM or so, I went outside to start the truck and noticed 4 patrol cars stationed at the perimeter of the lot facing us at each quadrant.
My guess is we were the excitement of the night.
We have since found a park that has a 100ft pull through (we need 72ft of it) that is actually cheaper than the store.

RE: What the Heck is this?

Hate to break it to y'all but that is not the popular and foreign made Whatchamacallit, that is in fact an elusive American made "Doo Hickey".
It goes on the "CumminGs", near the transmorgitator.

RE: Hwy 199 from Crescent City to Grants Pass

My opinion is that it'd be your worst nightmare!
Personally, I'd go North from Crescent to Florence OR and head east.

RE: I-80 west of Reno, be very careful

We towed this:http://i34.tinypic.com/10qfcwp.jpg twice from Reno.
If this rig can make it anyone can.
Just take it as slow you feel you need to. Hopefully you'll have an understanding big-rig driver behind you.
Aim high while steering, watch where you're going to be. Don't worry about where you are.
Watch the left side, the right side will take care of its self.
The bad one is if you're on 101 North out of Willits, same thing, only add a 6% grade.

Is Kramer junction still a 4Way stop? Out in the middle of the desert.

RE: Indianapolis Indiana - Where to stay?

You wanted West, can't help you. But, East on 70 @ Mount Comfort there's a new park. Opened just before we moved from Greenfield.
In Greenfield there's Heartland RV Park. Very nice, with Storm Shelters.

RE: Just saw something SAD. Trailer flipped , child killed

Not meaning to make light of a very tragic situation but, kinda like the weight police, eh?
Odd thing is, there is nothing on the Las Vegas Sun's site, at least that I could find.

5-year-old Vegas boy killed in rural Nevada highway wreck
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 5-year-old Las Vegas boy was killed when the pickup truck he was riding in blew a front tire and spun out of control while pulling large, fifth-wheel recreational trailer.
The accident happened Wednesday on State Route 376, about 40 miles northeast of Tonopah.
Authorities say 38-year-old Steven Haigh was driving when the left front tire blew out, sending the truck and trailer across traffic and down an embankment.
Haigh’s 5-year-old son, Andrew, was one of three children in the back seat of the crew cab truck. Emphasis mine.
Authorities say he was ejected and died while being flown to a hospital in Las Vegas.
The other children were treated at a hospital and released.

RE: Infrared Thermometers

I check the temps across the tread of all tires. If the center temp is more then 10 deg higher than the outside temps, that tire is over inflated for the load that day. If the outside and inside temps are more than 10 higher than the center that tire is under inflated for the load.
I also shoot the front calipers and try to get the drum temps.
Ex-Race Mechanic, kinda anal about temps.

RE: What are your Rules of the Road

I changed the orientation of all outside bins so that when locked all key ways are parallel to ground. That way I don't have to grab them, just look at them to see they're locked.

RE: First smoke advice

Don't ever start smoking. It's a bad habit and will kill you.
Oh, wait... You're talking about smoking meat. OOPSIE, my bad.
Don't ever start smoking. It's a habit that will make you gain weight and friends.
That may not be a bad thing.

If you want to stay in town, try "Silver Sage RV" on Virginia St., right across from the Peppermill.
Easy access to 395, Atlantis and the downtown casinos.

Atwood G/E Water Heater Inop on 110

Our Orphan (ALFA) fifth wheel has sat for 2 years. We lived in it for a year before moving in to the house we're in.
Next weekend, taking it out so I'm getting it ready.
Well, the water heater won't. works just peachy on gas, just not on electric.
Alfa in their finite wisdom, encased the unit in an armor box. there is a small access panel that can be removed.
After removing the panel there's a Rat's Nest of wires cables and hoses. There's a couple of flex conduits in there.
There's a small box that may or may not cover the heating element. This box backs up to the armored container thus, can't be removed.
My question is, If try to remove the unit, what are the possibilities of there being enough lines to slide it out and test etc...?
Thanks.

RE: Should there be a wire here?

No, I haven't had the recall done.
Will try to get that this week.
Does that have anything to do with the cooling ability?
Or just the safety issue?
Thanks.

Should there be a wire here?

At the top right of the outside of my Dometic refer, there is what appears to be a thermistor or something similar.
There is one red wire connected and a bare terminal.
Should there be another wire and where should it go.
I'd post a pic but, well, you know the standard answer to that.
Thanks.
