RE: privacy curtain

There are some that are threaded through an end and a screw put in to hold it. Others have a half moon cut out around the center that the tabs slip into. Jim

RE: handrails

In the stowed position they will help keep your door closed if you forgot to lock it. The only con is that as they are exposed to the sun and weather the foam cover on the handle becomes loose. I love 'em Jim

RE: Guns in RV's What are the laws?

I too have CC permit. The laws are usually available online. There are recriprical agreements between most states for those who have CC. I will to see what Ohio law says. Jim

RE: Holy @#$, coming very close to the worst fear

That is weird. I wonder if the same thing would ofoccured had you been away. If so, with remote jacks I wonder if they should be turned off or somehow rendered out of service, or have a remote kill button?

RE: How do they work?

As far as the water system goes, there may be an on board holding tank, or simply a hook up for a hose. Does your camper have a hot water tank? A toliet or shower? If you can post the year and make more specific information and instructions can be posted. Welcome to truck camping! Jim

RE: Not allowed to take camper off in Missoula, Mt

We have had our TC for a year now, but we have had pop-ups and 5th wheels for 25 years. We camped in Camp Dearborne this past week with the camper off the truck and no one said anything, but I am glad to hear that some places have that restriction, and I will know to ask! Jim

RE: Taking the 3 grandkids with us in the TC, suggestions?

Well we just got back and the trip was great! The weather cooperated and the only time we were in the camper was to sleep and change clothes. Camp Dearborne was fantastic, there was a playground accross the road from camp and all went really well. MAybe I can talk my bride into keeping the TC and not going back to a 5th wheel. Thanks for all the tips. Jim

RE: Air Shocks

I had the firestones and took them off and went to an extra 3/8" thick full length leaf made at a spring shop. If I were to put them back on and I may, I would get a higher grade of bolts to attach the units. They came with regular bolts and they bent. Jim

RE: Happijacks not working; tips for troubleshooting please

Well this is what I did. I checked the fuse and I had blown the fuse. I replaced the fuse and the front right jack worked. I removed the power supply connector to the right rear and checked the voltage when I gave the jack the signal to operate and I saw ~ 13 volts both directions. I hand cranked the jack to retract the leg (the camper was still on the storage platform) and removed and removed the motor / gear assembly. After re-connecting the jack power supply to the motor (removed from the jack) and sending a signal to operate, the motor did not spin. With the motor assembly removed I inserted the hand crank and the leg easily traveled. Diagnosis, bad motor. Called Happijac and they said they said ship them the motor and they would make it good for $50. For now I took the gear assembly from a previously trashed motor out of the motor / gear box and screwed it into the jack to protect the innards and for this next camping trip I will manually crank the jack. I may get a 1/2 hex drive for my cordless drill and use that for the unloaded travel. I'll let you know haow this turns out. By the way, the tech support at Happijac were very helpful Jim

RE: Happijacks not working; tips for troubleshooting please

Just got off the phone with the folks at happijacs. They gave me the following advice. Disconnect the power to the jack. Put lube in the jack at the crank socket. Attempt to raise and lower as after setting for a bit it may be siezed. After getting it to move, check the fuse in the control box. There is a fuse for the left and one for the right side. My guess is I blew the fuse when attempting to move the siezed jack. I will let you know what comes from this. Jim

RE: Happijacks not working; tips for troubleshooting please

I don't see a lever. There is the screws that hold the motor assembly on the jack and a plastic cap. I'm thinking that they may be in a bind. The TC was in winter storage and elevated in the front ~4" and on blocks. Thanks for the tips so far. This is giving me several things to look at this evening. If the motor is not working, could I remove the motor drive assembly and just hand crank it? Thanks again Jim

It is two wire.

RE: Happijacks not working; tips for troubleshooting please

I unplugged the connector and saw "0" volts when activated. I went to the black box and had "0" voltage on the terminals for the jack in question. I'll check the voltage at the others tomorrow. Jim

Happijacks not working; tips for troubleshooting please

Geting the TC ready to go on a trip next week out of winter storage. All systems fine but two of the happijacks are not working. The passenger side jacks are not moving. You can hear the control panel "click" when a command is given but no movement. I disconnected the power supply to a jack and tried to manually operate the jack with the crank and it would not operate that way either. The manual said to attempt raise and lower with the motor while attempting to crank the jack, but that did not do anything. Any ideas? Thank you Jim

RE: Need help with older models of the 9'6" Citation Supreme

I have an '01 and I really love it. I've not camped in the winter yet but it does stay cool in the summer. Jim
