RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 14-16, 2010

I did okay through my surgery. I'm out of the hospital (surgery was on the 9th) and at home. I've had some ups and downs but that's normal. I'm just impatient now to get back to my old routine.
Glad the surgery went well. How are the homely trees looking? One is all dolled up in the house and the other I haven't let indoors due to extreme ugliness. :B

I'm hoping the cold will subside a bit soon. I'm getting stir crazy locked up in the house. I can't walk far but I'm really ready to walk outside at least.

I wasn't frozen. I was having surgery but I'm home now. I'm not so sure I should BE home given that I feel like******and my tummy is very swollen (I got spayed), but here I am. My biggest challenge has been keeping the cats off my stomach.
Gonna be cold here today, again. :)

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 14-16, 2010

Hello all, Mary and I are heading out for Yuma on Dec. 28th, we will stop in Q and visit with Steve and Sarah for a couple of days, then head out for Yuma. I have some extensive dental work to be done and need to get right at it, then we play. We had a new awning installed in Pasco last week, then Mary drove back to Yakima, first time on the road with the MH and we were towing the car. She did a great job, it took about three miles to get her off the right shoulder then we were OK. We are staying at the Garden Oasis RV park on 8th st. just off Ave. B. Looking forward to to seeing all of you northwest snowbirds down there, Bob and Holly, we are going to miss you.
GOOD FOR MARY!!! I wish more women out there would learn to drive their rigs for that one "just in case" time that might come. Kudos for her for doing it! :)

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 14-16, 2010

Well, the rabble rousers are back from Dosewallips. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather except for maybe a little more warmth. Other than that, it was a wonderful weekend with great company. :)
Tom went out and slew two rather homely trees up on Forest Service land for our Christmas. I haven't let one inside the house yet and the other one has to be 12 ft tall. Thankfully, our dining room has a really high ceiling with a loft. :B I might make wreaths out of the other one if Tom turns his back long enough. :w

Hobo, are you kidding? I wouldn't go near a store today if my life depended on it. :)
We're soon to be off for Dosewallips. This should be fun. :)

RE: NW Thanksgiving Mini Rally Nov 27-28-29 2009

Okay, turkey dinner has been cooked and eaten, pie has been consumed and the resulting coma slept through. It is time to go CAMPING!!!!
We're planning to bring all our leftovers to share if anyone wants any. We're also planning to get up and get out of here as early as I can haul my cookies out of bed (this could take awhile) and load up the truck.
See you there!!!!

RE: NW Thanksgiving Mini Rally Nov 27-28-29 2009

Hope none of you are trying to go from Edmonds to kingston right now. Just came up from the marina fixing a stern light on the boat. Line goes all the way UP the hill, past QFC, Past PCC, even past the U76! Not sure how long/many boats that is, but would swag at minimum 3, probably more like 4-5 boats/hrs of a wait! Hope it is not that bad tomorrow morning at 7 or 8am runs!
marty
Hahaha, are you nuts?????? Tom and I learned our lesson the first year we lived here by trying to go from Kingston to Monroe on Turkey Day to meet some friends. We left our house at 11 am and got to Monroe around 3 pm. NEVER again. :)
Are you coming out to Dosewallips to camp with us? You should sail around and anchor off the coast there and ride a dingy in for dinner. :) We promise to save you something...it might be a half-chewed dinner roll though. :B

Yeah, I was thinking lets just bring all our leftovers and pool them for the weekend. Everybody just bring stuff and we'll put meals together from that. God knows none of this group ever starves. :w

RE: NW Thanksgiving Mini Rally Nov 27-28-29 2009

Yeah, taking a trailer or MH on the ferry is killer.
David, I doubt you're going to get a good deal on a tree out of Bob. He's trying to make his Yuma gas money and wouldn't shave off a penny for a dying man. :B (well, really I don't know that but you have to admit, it sounds good. :) )
SO... the pertinent question...what is everyone bringing for food and what are we doing Thanksgiving weekend other than eating and sitting around digesting? :) Everyone bringing their leftovers and pooling them? We'll bring an extra day-shade thing to supplement whomever's awning (mine isn't big enough for all of us so it'll be either Ryan or David's) since I don't think we can all fit inside one person's trailer. We could try, though. :B
I think asking Laura and David to cook breakfast for everyone without the benefit of a full-sized kitchen will be frankly too much to ask. Even though there are only six mouths to feed, we sure do eat a lot. That's a lot of pancakes, sausage and eggs. How about we do it in bits? Or not at all? What do you guys think?
I'm up for potlucking and pooling leftovers for the rest of it and for making a field trip to Fat Smitty's at some point, although if we're doing that, we likely should call first to make sure they're open. That's a long trip otherwise. If we get too bored, we can always road trip to my house (about 40 miles from Dosewallips). I have satellite TV and a hot tub. :w Stay away from my sheep, though. They're clean, virtuous girls. :B

From Dosewallips to the tree lot is about 40 miles, give or take. Should take just under an hour to get there. While we're in town giving Bob hell, we could stop by and see my sheep. :) I live about 4 miles from the tree lot.

The tree stand is on 305 in Poulsbo on the corner of 305 and Hostmark (I think). It is in the parking lot of the NW Design Center, across the street from a large Chevron station.
The place I was talking about was Snug Harbor and is about a mile north of FS on 101.

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 14-16, 2010

Yeah, too many "Laura"s around here, but only one of them plays with sheep and hunts racoons in her own back yard. :B :B But I think we also have a few Dave's and Bob's too.
If I knew more about how the slide works, I may have tried to fix it myself. But since we were out in the woods and no easy way to crawl under the trailer to see what might be wrong, we called it a day. Glad we weren't too far from home.
The sheep lady's electrical problems would probably be easier to fix though. :B
I don't hunt the raccoons; that's Tom's job. :)
The electrical problems in my trailer are trivially easy to fix with a good trade-in toward a better trailer. :B

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 14-16, 2010

Just got home from our shortest camping trip ever.
Found a spot, backed in, unhitched, hooked up the water and electrical, went to put the big slide out...and it wouldn't budge!!! Click, click, click, click. Like a starter motor going bad. Didn't want to try the manual override in fear if we got it out, maybe we couldn't get it back in. ... Oh well, maybe next weekend...if they get the trailer fixed in time.
Welcome to my world. :w :B

Linda, congrats on the new car! :)
Everybody else, I came out of my first and more minor surgery fine today. Based on the pathology reports from today, we figure out if I need the second one and if so, which type they'll do. I'm likely getting spayed for Christmas. :B

Well Laura, since you and I are way older than Ryan and Beth, they must be the "cool kids" you're talking about. :B We could always use more of the well seasoned folks to join us too. :B
