RE: Delorme Earthmate GPS w/Street Atlas 2008 $17.99!

Is it a better puck than the ones from a few years ago?
Yes! I have both, the new one is great.

RE: Question on outside speakers?

Ivylog, I don't think anybody is saying don't participate - heck I don't own a Toy Hauler anymore and I still participate here. What's being suggested is that unless you are going to participate in the on topic discussion, then don't bother to, that's all. This topic started off as questions as to help on replacing outside speakers, not complaining about outside speakers. I wish I could say this was the only time, however I think every time any Toy Hauler owner asks about speakers we get those that just wish to be critical, thus the blue hair name calling.

RE: FireFox most vunerable browser

Until other browsers offer me the ability to use things like NoScrip, AdBlock and FlashBlock I won't be switching. Adding NoScript alone makes all the difference in securing the browser, I wish FF would implement the feature as standard.

RE: KZ Coyote Rock Climber CRC 222

Fleetwood also made the Scorpion, if you do a search you'll find an owner that had one. A concern for these is the tongue weight.

RE: uneven tread wear, Sure Trac E tires

Give the folks at Henderson Line-Up a call they mostly work on motorhomes but I bet they can give you good local advice. They are very well respected around the US and they are in your home town.

RE: Question on outside speakers?

Guys one thing I will say is that RV.net is a forum for all different types of RV owners. As with life my attitude is we all need to be tolerant of each other, it does bother me when folks assume the worst about Toy Hauler owners, but lets not assume the worse about other folks either.
This topic was asking for help about speakers, so lets keep that in mind too.

RE: "Bluehair"... sign of disrespect???

Ron,
You have a fair comment to make, and I'd apologize on behalf of the Toy Hauler forum but I really can't. However, for the most part its said in jest and usually after somebody will make a disparaging remark about the Toy Hauler owners. Specifically the thread going on now was about changing outside speakers, and of course a non-Toy Hauler owner decided to pipe in that Outside speakers should be banned. You probably can see where that went.
I'm not longer a Toy Hauler owner and I take a ribbing from the guys, and one day I hope to be a blue hair myself and be off full timing... of course I won't have hair by then.
For everyone the key is tolerance and realizing we don't all have to agree all the time, but we can still all get along.
Happy Camping now matter what type of RV you own!

RE: Question on outside speakers?

Keep in mind many folks just hit the "Newest" link and reply to any thread they care to without looking to see what forum its in. Most don't understand desert camping, they are only thinking about loud music in their RV park.

RE: Best brands/models of toy haulers

Keep in mind that quality is like beauty, its in the eye of the beholder. Also, quality changes. We had a 2005 Raptor, worked great no problems. But who's to say if that same hold true for a 2010 Raptor?
The only way to judge quality is for you to look at the units yourself, and use one of the many "Pre-Delivery Inspection" forms to make sure you check each item out before you buy it.
Generally speaking, like many things in life, quality costs money. A good quality Toy Hauler doesn't mean its going to have the latest gizmos and gadgets. One of the more solid Toy Haulers is the Desert Fox line, they won't have a lot of black leather or fancy graphics, but they make a great four season RV. The Glendale Titanium MPRV & Newmar X-Aire are both made by good companies with a solid reputation, but you're going to pay for that quality too.
The list 982gt gave is a great starting point.

RE: Question about Winter w/Toyhauler

I'll second emort's comments, we used our toy hauler and now motorhome pretty much up till January, at that time I put it down for a couple of months. I just drain all the water, blow the lines and dump a bit of pink stuff in the drains. The other key thing is to suck up just enough pink stuff to replace any water in your water pump. I can buy a couple gallons for several trips through the winter.

RE: IPod battery

You can get replacement batteries, there is a chain store called "Batteries Plus" that stocks them and I believe will replace them for you too. However the Sansa players are pretty inexpensive now and you can probably buy a brand new one for not much more. We used the Sansa players here for several years, good little players. We've since switched over to IPods though.

RE: Caution when dealing with adventureRV.net

I've never worked with these folks but I had a similar situation and couldn't get any reply via email to find out when or if it was shipping. I called Visa and put the charge in dispute, heard from them a couple hours later. :) Amazing what happens when they might not get paid.

RE: no air to garage (heat or a/c)

I can't find the post right now, but one of our Raptor owners pulled the cover off exposing the furnace and found an outlet facing the garage. All he had to do was cut out a vent hole in the garage, and put some aluminum vent line and he had heat in the garage. He did add a vent that could be closed off. It won't help your A/C needs but will take the edge off if you don't have hook up's. If you have hook up's just put in ceramic heater.
