RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

What a great thread. There was a time we contemplated buying a B but unfortunately DW doesn't understand the concept of 'packing light.' :)
I spotted this little gem at Wally World the other day but got distracted by a phone call and forgot to look at the brand. Doh!

RE: Funny things you have seen while camping

Last weekend DW and I were camped on gravel riverbank about an three hours or so from home. About 11:30PM a mid 80's Coachmen Class A rolls in, drives past us and the few other folks to a spot down the riverbank until he realizes he's about to be in a pickle. We didn't see him do it (tho we heard it) but he made the unwise decision to try and turn around rather than back up.
Poor fellow backed it over a small rise and right into the river. The MH didn't have the oomph to do anything but dig holes in the sand. There wasn't any cell service so he (and his wife/girlfriend and very cranky baby) were going to sleep in it and figure out what to do in the AM. We let him use the sat phone to call a wrecker because it had been raining like crazy and I could see the situation going from bad to worse as the water rose.

RE: what flags do you like to fly on your rigs ???

Old Glory is always flown... Under her we usually fly either the Alaska state flag or the US Air Force flag.

RE: 1/2T Towing...It's The Payload That Doesn't Make Them Work

Payload in the 1/2 tons is light, but they work for a whole lot of people. We tow our 25' AS and are quite happy. While Toyota advertises the Tundra will pull 10K lbs, that's not a realistic number if you carry much of anything with you. I figure with what's inside the truck (i.e. us/stuff) and gear in the bed we max out at about 8,500lbs or so. For now though, our setup works like a dream but I do know it's limits.

RE: Best Trailer Brands

'Best brand' is far too subjective. Start by fleshing out your needs/wants and go from there. We've become quite fond of our Airstream but there are a lot of good units on the road.

RE: Gas station etiquette

Some people should be taken out to the wood shed and taught a lesson every once in a while....
I'm liking the woodshed idea... :)

RE: Gas station etiquette

Amazing isn't it? The sad thing is you never know if they're really just dense or a lunatic. Better to let cooler heads prevail.

RE: Site Courtesy or I am being grumpy

You're definitely not alone. For the most part folks are pretty decent but there are a few idjits that just don't get it. I'm always willing to overlook someone who says "hi, do you mind..." but those that don't ask tick me off.

RE: Campsite Theft

We haven't ever had any real problems but we do lock up the generator and lock the camper when we leave. Better to be safe and lock up anything of real value.

RE: "New" Tow Vehicle

We tow a 25' Airstream and our '07 Tundra pulls it like it's not even there. Enjoy the truck and happy travels!
