RE: will this combo work? (truck & trailer?)

You should be able to use that combo with no problem. It may be slow going up mountains.

RE: charging batteries

Yes trailers come with a thing called a converter that when you are plugged into shore power will charge your battery. The plug that connects to your tow vehicle will also have a charge line.

RE: two batteries in series or parallel

This may help. Good luck The 12volt Side of Life (Part 1)

RE: Slide Out Awning??? worth it????

I think they are just another thing to wearout or be damaged. I have never felt that the shade they provide does any good. On our tow 5ers we have had no problem with the slides without awnings.

RE: Problem having oil changed

You are right it was a rant. I guess I would appreciate a shop that would not take a chance on damaging my pan bolt. I sometime change my truck's oil and I use a torque wrench to tighten it,

RE: Toolbox and Towing a Fifth Wheel

I agree you will have contact problems. It usually will occur on turns from a low place to a high place or vise a versa.

RE: Rockwood Roo Vent Cover Replacement

Take out the screws that hold the raising mechanism and you should have no problem.

RE: Yes another MPG topic!

Give it a good tune up with new air and oil filters, new spark plugs and use synthetic oil in everything.

RE: Generac Generator

There are a lot of posts that talk about Generac, you might do a search.

RE: Circuit Board Burned!

Based on your statement about electrical knowledge I would advise a trip to an RV shop. If the microwave set off the fire on the circuit board it is a 120 volt AC problem. That is dangerous.

RE: Bed Clearance vs. Trailer Being Level

If you have 9" that is plenty many people have 5 or 6 and no problems.

RE: What is the narrowest hide a bed couch/love seat?

I bought a part of a sectional that is 5" wide. it does not have arms, and has a queen bed. Unfortunately I bought it from Montgomery Wards. I would guess that another company has such a thing. The orginal hide-a-bed was about 54" and had a 46" matteress. It was not comfortable as a couch or a bed.

RE: Busted grease covers - big deal?

They are near impossable to repair too much grease has soaked in. I doubt that you will find new boots. Even if you do you will need to remove the joint. I'd bite the bullet and install new joints. It's a safety thing they will eventually break and you may crash.

RE: Towing choices, need advice

It is too heavy for you to tow.

RE: Electrical problem

The 50 amp RV really have 2 legs of 50 amp 120 volt AC. She may have lost one leg and think she has 30 amps. I would suggest that she eliminate here serge protector and what ever a tender is and plug directly into a 50 amp service.

RE: AC that will work off a 2k generator like the new champion

A 2,000 watt generator will put out about 15 amps. It should run the AC you are looking at.

RE: Disable Battery charger in 32 Amp Power Converter

Buy an update for the converter. The 6332 is outdated and it will boil batteries.

RE: Inverter question

It kept shutting down because it took the battery too low. You need a lot of battery capacity to power an inverter. The coffee maker probably draws about 1000 watts the would be 83 amps of 12volts.

RE: Class C RV'ing - What happens to my 'spot' while I'm gone?

Just leave some chairs or a grill secured to the picnic table or a tree so people know the space is taken. Leave a piece of paper with your name and the work taken on it.
