RE: Spare Key for used Gulfstream Vista Sprinter Freightliner

When I purchased my used 2005 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser it only had one key. I went to the local Dodge dealer and they took the vin number and sent off for a duplicate with the chip. It was expensive. I also ordered a plain key that will open the outside doors but won't start the car. I keep that key hidden so if I lose the key I can get into the Van and get to the spare key which is hidden inside the Van. Sounds complicated but it does give me peace of mind when we are traveling. I took several weeks to get the spare key with the chip. I think they had to order the key from Germany. Good luck with your Vista Cruiser. We love ours. Bruce

RE: The new Dodge van?

I just read that Mercedes has sign up 100 dealers to sell and service Sprinters. Has anyone seen a list of new dealers who will service and sell Sprinters? The Dodge dealers are still going to service the older Sprinters also (hopefully).

RE: newbies

Good advice Nick! DW and I sat in 20+ different RV's at a show in Syracuse over a 3 day period before we decided on our Sprinter "B". We then found a used one and drove it several times before we bought it. We travel as much as we camp so drivability was very important to us. We spend more time driving and I use it for towing a sailboat and going to regattas. Once we get to a destination we have very adequate accommodations. Rhonda, Good luck with your search and if you end up with a "B" come back to this forum and learn as much as you can from many super people who hang out here.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

Now we are 50! We will continue to register folks for B7 and they will be on the attendee list and if anyone cancels their registration the next person will move up on the list. Again, congratulations to everyone on our "committee" who are working to make this a super Rally.

RE: B7 Update!

Yes! We have named B7 "The Best of Upstate NY" and since IggyQuartet is from the Adirondack Mountains area of NY, which is one of the most beautiful areas in our state and country, it is great that she will be attending B7 and representing that area.

RE: Worry about discrimination because of little "B"

My experience with our Van is that folks are very friendly and curious to find out how much "stuff" has been squeezed into our "B". They watch us come and go 2-3 times a day with very little effort and we wish we had more room and they wish they were as mobile. Grass is always greener but it is about seeing our beautiful country and meeting great people. So as they say, it's how you use it that really matters. Check out www.b-rally.org and sign up to see the other New York. Bruce (chair B7)

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

Lots of good news to report about B7. 40 Vans have registered and sponsors have begun to come on board Sportsmobile will again be supplying lots of firewood and ice for our sodas. We will have both Coke and Pepsi products to accommodate all tastes. The pavilion at "The Villages" has a beautiful fire place in the center so will have lots of time to sit around the fire and meet old and new friends. We are looking for someone to organize a "Make your own Sundae" event. A NY dairy company will be providing lots of ice cream. Go to www.b-rally.org and see the list of attendees. We have folks coming from Florida, Texas and as far away as Hawaii. For the first time since B4 we have folks from Pennsylvania registered for B7. If you haven't signed up yet please go to www.b-rally.org and register. Looking forward to seeing everyone in May. Bruce Campbell (chair B7)

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

We are anticipating a huge sign up this year and are going to limit the number of Vans to 50 (under 100 campers). More than this would be a bit uncomfortable and take away from our goal of providing an enjoyable experience for all. So...... If you register for B7 I am asking you to send in your registration fee to me by January 15th. If we do not receive the fee we will go to the attendee list and invite those on our waiting list to attend. When Patti Campbell at "The Villages" starts taking reservations on February 1st you can request a site or she will assign one for you. If you wish to request a certain neighbor she will do her best to accommodate you. We encourage campers to meet new folks and make new friends which happened to Terry and I at B6. Looking forward to meeting many new "B" folks in May. Bruce Campbell (Chair B7)

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

It was over $100/night and our site overlooked marsh. On the north side of this campground the water was more visible but $20/ at Blackwoods sounds better to me. And yes, the shuttles (L.L. Bean sponsored) are super.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

Michael, If you haven't been to Maine before try and get Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. If you get there the Blackwoods campground in the park is beautiful. We paid too much money for a "water" site at the KOA in Bar harbor and felt cheated. We can talk at the B7 Rally and I can show you some beautiful pictures we took while in Maine.

B7 Registration!

Registration for B7 is underway and we have 25 persons signed up after one day. We already have 14 vans on board for B7. Go to http://www.b-rally.org/index.htm and check out all the information about B7. Last year was my first rally and I can't believe how much I learned from all the "B" owners and the representatives from the different companies. Hope to meet many of you this May at B7. RE: Electric shutdown

We camped at the KOA near Acadia and some sites were having problems with the electric. I also would guess there might be surges occurring and would get the campground folks on it even if it doesn't happen again.

RE: Sprinter based Class B's

I asked our local Dodge (Sprinter) dealer and they said they would continue to service and keep their Sprinter tech person. It's a crazy time but between Dodge, Freightliner and now Mercedes I'm hoping we will have good service. Our local Mercedes dealer presently does not have a lift capable of lifting a 22 foot van.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

To see the scenery near "The Villages" (B7 - Campground) tune your TV to the Golf Channel and look for the PGA Event at the Turning Stone Casino in Vernon, NY. The competition goes through Sunday and is being covered usually in the late afternoon. Bruce
