RE: DOES SIZE MATTER

To me the biggest consideration was the bed size/configuration. Then next was storage space. We picked the 210 because we didn't need 4 seats, wanted the king size bed and the convection microwave.

RE: Covection Oven in place of microwave

When we bought our 2009 Roadtrek, we specifically picked our model because it came with the convection microwave. Not all the models did unfortunately. Not sure if they have changed that for 2010. We had a convection microwave in our Class A and never used the toaster oven I had bought. They do a pretty good job of baking and browning biscuits and such.

RE: Opinions on RoadTrek needed

We bought our new Roadtrek 210P last October. Having had a trailer, a class A and now a Class B, I really like the macerator system. It is much easier if you have two people - one to push the button and one to make sure the hose stays in the dump hole--but it does work with just one person. You will read in this forum about some issues with the hose leaking if you're not careful putting it away, etc. Of course, a lot goes to how you use your B. A lot of campgrounds have sewer hook up at the site so you won't have to drive anywhere to dump. However, they tend to put the hookups at the back of the site and the macerator hose is located close to the driver's door and the hose length is not overly generous.
We were actually able to dump the black tank into a porta-john once when we couldn't find a regular dump station and the tank was getting a little full. That took a little maneuvering because of the length of the hose, but worked well in a pinch.

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

Went to the Apple Harvest Festival in Winchester, VA over the weekend. Saw this beautiful B that belonged to one of the vendors.

RE: RoadTrek 210

We had the same question. Somehow, it channels down and out of the lower part of the van. There is no tube or drainspot or anything.

RE: who has Gone From a class A to a class B?

We had a 29 ft class A which allowed us to visit places and take the two Boston Terriers along for the ride. When our trips became more about the weekend excursions, and the now one dog became so much smaller, we found ourselves never using the camper because the hassle of towing the car. So with a change in lifestyle came the change in RVs. It is more about the journey than about the actual camping once you get there, but we are having fun. And so is the dog who goes everywhere!

RE: First Timer: Best way to learn about our New RV?

If you pull into your campsite, start looking kind of confused and begin speaking loudly back and forth to your significant other, you can count on lots of seasoned RV'rs running over to show you how to do it "right" and give you lots of advice.

RE: Cost of new RT 190-P and 210-P

I think you can go online and figure out the list price with all the options you want. I believe we got about 17-18% off list at the Harrisburg RV show, but that was for placing a new order rather than buying the exact one they had at the show. The value of options is sort of relative. I'm not sure we'll ever use the screens for the back door, the wardrobe, or even the TV antenna.

RE: BBQ quick connect hose

We looked into that as well. You would have to buy the connectors and then have someone custom make a hose in order to get long enough to get it away from the van. We figured we didn't grill out all that much to make it worthwhile doing.

RE: Great B accessories but never use

So far, we have yet to actually use the special grill we bought (special because it fits in under the back seat). But then our van gets more use out of driving to visit relatives (where we bring our own sleeping quarters) rather than actual camping. But I'm hoping to get there this summer soon!

RE: 2010 Roadtrek 210

I've usually had a lot of success emailing Roadtrek direct with my questions. There's a couple of things they SHOULD change from the 2009 IMHO.

RE: Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Perfect For A 'B'

Certainly looks like it would be easier to store in the garage between trips. Is there any harm in only lowering and loading up one side of it? With the continental tire covers on the back, you lose half the size of the back hitch carriers anyway.

RE: PDI - Roadtrek - What to look for?

Delivered last November so some things might be different today, like the radio. Our side door didn't open from the inside. Ending up costing us money to fix because GM considered it out of warranty since Roadtrek had "modified" the van. The indoor cab light didn't work, but that turned out to be a setting (the dashboard system is rather extensive). Toilet hose sprung a leak the first time we attached a hose. Also, we have a great deal of difficult getting the bathroom door to lock so we'll be having that taken care of during the warranty period. The radio also has been replaced once but still cuts in and out and loses signal when it shouldn't. The remote is rather lame, yet it controls the time settings, etc. The a/c unit rattled a little bit. All common sorts of things. You just don't normally touch every little button at the walk-through so it's hard to catch everything until you actually drive it, sleep in it, etc. BTW, the coffeepot has been recalled. :B

RE: What is this for??

One guess is they hooked it up to the water supply to quickly hose off the slinky before storing it. Rather than using their fresh water hose.

RE: Roadtrek Internat'l membership

I bought a membership right away. I think it would be fun to get together with other owners, but nothing really seems to be in my neck of the woods. I think the membership was relatively inexpensive, so I'll keep it up for a while.

RE: Small trailers behind a class B -- suggestions?

The pulmor trailer is really cute, but $2,000 is a lot for something to use only once in a while (for me anyways). I think if you're spending many weeks, etc. traveling it would pay for itself. Then I'd have to find a place to store it when not in use. I looked around for some rentals but couldn't find that model, at least not in my east coast area.
