RE: Headed to Maine - Late Summer 2010
when in old orchard, we stay at paradise park RV resort, it is a short walk to the main beach area in old orchard. We have also stayed at Baileys RV resort. It is a short shuttle bus ride to the main part of old orchard beach. When in old orchard, you have to get a lobster roll at baileys lobster pound, you won't be disapointed. In wells, we have stayed at Wells beach RV resort. You will have to get a preminum site. nice place, 1 mile from the ocean, the shuttle bus picks you up at the gate.

RE: Shocked at the $$ spent on food during a trip
This past summer, my wife and I bought a couple of steamed lobsters
and picked two happy meals for the kids. We ate at the TT, the kids were
happy as a pig in sh** to have McDonalds, and DW and I were thrilled
to have fresh, steamed Maine lobster.

RE: First time using our fresh water holding tank....
I bleach my fresh water tank every spring. I flush out the red antifreeze, I add one gallon
of bleach to a full tank of fresh water and run all taps including the shower head
and toilet. Let sit for a few days. Flush, let sit, flush, let sit,....
Until I can not smell bleach. It took a long time yo not smell bleach, last season.
I think it took a few weeks until we didn't smell the pool in our TT.
We also only drink bottled water. At a buck a gallon, its a cheap guarantee aganist
the poops.

I have small cracks on the sidewalls and between the treads of two of my duro tires on my 2008 keystone sprinter. I was at a CG last April and a fellow sprinter owner showed me his tires, WOW, side wall cracks all over all four tires. I have seen other complaints on this web site about duro.
I would love to see a class action complaint aganist keystone or duro

Gravy ???
My wife is in bed with the swine flu. And I am making thanksgiving dinner. ( I picked up a couple of frozen pizzas, just in case.) Does any one have a simple gravy recipe that I could use ?? I did pick up a can, but would like to try making it from the pan drippings.

I write this after spending the last 3 days flat on my back in bed. With a MILD case of H1N1. I just hope my wife and kids don't get sick. Oh yea. I had to call in sick for my 24hr. Part-time shift with a ambulance company. 72 hours a week taking sick people to tbe hospital, and I can't get a shot but 300 entitled people in Boston can ???

Good luck getting it in the states. I saw a news story showing a clinic in Boston giving out 300 doses to the first people in line that wanted something for free and must have had the day off from work. Got to love that proirity list. Lets see......seniors, compromised imune systems patients, ems workers, nurses,... Unemployed drains on society go right to the front.

RE: rv mat sale
I bought a mat this season. I love it. We don't put it on grass, just concrete pad or hard packed gravel. Its nice to step out of the rv onto a mat and not have to worry about shoes.

My TT is 36' when measured bumper to hitch. I have been to some nice " RV resorts " in New England and have had a tight squeeze in most sites. The worst was the most expensive.( wells, ME Pull through, TT bumper was at road edge and truck bumper was just over the line on the oppisite end of site.) And the places with the biggest sites were average priced.( sandwich, MA ) But even the tight sites were worth it. Location to beach is everything.

SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE
1 can (12 oz. ) of frozen limeade concentrate ( do not add water)
1 can of beer
12 oz. of tequila (a little less if you want)
a splash of triple sec
mix in a pitcher with ice until limeade is mixed in.
