Most efficient way to charge batteries

Quick Question,
Do my RV 12 volt batteries get a better charge from a battery charger or from being charged up when the RV is plug in?

RE: Slide not going out and motor struggling

Thanks for everyones input.
Current status.
The slide is still going out slow. Coming in is fine.
Here is a stupid question in regards to the batteries. Currently the MH is plugged in (120 V). I am assuming that the converter is trickle charging them now. I did not charge them up as I usually do with a battery charger. Should I pull the batteries out and do that? Or will leaving the MH plugged in accomplish the same thing?
The slide awning does not seem to be the problem. I will clean an lube it.
The gear shaft appears to be lubricated.
Anymore thoughts would be appreciated.

Slide not going out and motor struggling

Well.. as per Murphy's Law... we are getting ready for our first little trip on the upcoming long weekend. I uncovered the PIG last week and have started the unwinterizing projects.
I went to extend the slide and whoa and behold it stops about 2/3 of the way out. The motor sounds like it is laboring to push the slide out. It comes in no problem. So I extend it next time and lean against the slide from the inside to give it a little help. Goes out no problem.
I am guessing that it just might need a little silicon spray but I am unsure where to spray and how to get to it.
Any help ASAP would be great. LEaving in 6 hours
