RE: Asking for Pros and Cons on Great West Vans

We had a 2003 great west classic. The best finish and quality was as good or better than anything I have seen. And the most comfortable sofa/bed ever! I still miss it.

RE: 2011 Eighth Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B8)

Well, I wanted one and DH wanted the other, so I voted when he wasn't looking! Actually, we will be very happy with either, since we can't have both.

RE: 2011 Eighth Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B8)

I was getting worried that we would have NO rally nominations for 2011. I am sure we are not alone in saying that these rallies are one of the highlights of our camping year. So big congrats to Lynne for jumping in!!

RE: 2011 Eighth Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B8)

If we have the rally in texas, some B's might make it that couldn't go so far east. (I personally would like it since our son just got transferred to Austin.) So,Juan, or anyone else down there, go for it! Like david says, we need some nominations.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

John, of course the falls were breathtaking and I got some good photos, although it was very crowded that day. I am sure the border guards must know anyone driving a "B" is innocent and very nice.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

So far, no-one seems to be rushing to suggest for next year. Maybe Bruce did such a great job (and seems to have worked so hard) that anyone else is scared off! We certainly had a great time, but we always do, and everyone that has hosted has done an equally great job. And Lynne, David, and others always help a LOT. On the way home, John I am Canadian wanted to know how our trip to the Falls went. We had no trouble crossing into canada, in fact, they diddn't even ask for Annabelle's rabies tag though she was right on my lap. Coming back, we had a long wait , while they searched every vehicle front, back and under. When they got to the car in front of us, they put blocks under his wheels, 4 officers came and escorted him off in cuffs, then moved his car over and waved us on through, with just a question or two.Either they found what they wanted, or we just looked innocent.

We really enjoyed the rally this year, as always. We hope that next year the chairperson will follow Bruce and limit the number to 50 vans. Otherwise we will be getting TOO BIG.

RE: Fire

John, the rally won't be the same without you! We are curious about how you are getting home all the way from Florida. Sure hope you can get another MH and attend future rallies.

RE: Looking for Advice... Advertise Locally vs Nationally?

We listed our 2003 great west on Rvtrader and sold it almost imediately. When we were looking for a newer B, we found some on Craigs list to be out and out liars about the condition, and also overpriced. We ran into a couple of unbelievable examples. We finally ended up buying from a dealer. (we had some problems with that, also)

Bruce,Even tho I am TOTALLY without any musical talent, I have been interested in the music entry started by thrifty dutch and I think it would be great if some of these would bring their instuments to the B rally and play for us, informally of course, maybe on thursday, if all other times are filled. Even thrifty dutch's clarinet!(I have heard the clarinet is really hard to learn.)

I will give the Yankee barbeque a fair chance, but we come from the area known to us as the barbeque (pork) capital of the universe.

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

Last year someone was confused and thought you signed your snatcho gift. In many cases, it is better to remain unknown! As far as coffee, real and please no powdered whitener. We are planning to arrive on Thursday. We will bring a small item for the silent auction. Looking forward to May.

RE: Cabbage Casserole

I made the cabbage cassarole and my family had a fit over it.I have already made it again to take to a shut-in friend. They loved it also!

RE: winter storm

Lynne, that would be a winner in any snowman contest! And sums up the situation absolutely! My grandson in DC right off dupont circle says the restaurants and cafes are out of food and nothing is moving including the mail. A fairly large check I am looking for from DC area is no doubt lost in outer space.

RE: winter storm

One good thing, I haven't heard from anyone that had to move into their motor home because of power outages. We were all prepared to do that. What scares us down here is an ICE storm. Lost power for two weeks during last one several years ago.

RE: winter storm

David, I know this may not have been amusing to you, but we did get a chuckle out of your blog.Did you get it out and down? We related to this, remembering, years ago, when we decided to visit our vacation home under construction and got stuck in 20 inches of snow about 1/4 mile away. Had to hike to get the shovel and hike back to dig out.

winter storm

Just thinking about our fellow B's up in virginia, maryland and new jersey. Wondering if many needed the B to ride out this amazing storm. Maybe, hopefully, they got out and headed south.

RE: B's are really too cramped,

I have no idea what you mean about the nighttime nightmare with the electric sofa. Our electric sofa (Leisure travel)can be reclined a little or a lot for comfortable seating, and at night it makes into twin beds with enough space inbetween to get up without disturbing the other side. You can also make a queen which may be what you are refering to. Check out some electric sofas and the ways they can work.

RE: sprinter problem, losing power, engine light on

DH got home with no more problems and was very interested to read all the helpful responses. Many thanks! He understood better than I did. After checking everything, he has decided it was bad fuel. Its funny that we react more to a problem with the diesel engine, seems more scary. After many, many, years with gas engines, of course it was easier for him to diagnose, and find repair help when needed, for the gas engines. Personally,I know nothing about either.
