RE: Gulf Stream Class C Conquest

I can't speak for the model you are looking at but we have had 2 GS Conquest's and have loved both of them.

Michelin XRV vs XZE

I currently have Michelin XZA 225/70- 19.5 tires. They are in great shape but are now 7 years old. It appears XZA is no longer available in my size, so I trying to decide between the XRV abd XZE. I can't see much difference. Cost is approx $360 mounted and balanced.
Does anyone have experience with either tire?
Thanks

RE: Good buy or Good Bye on 07 Tourmaster

Check with GulfStream- they can tell you the axle weights when it left the factory.

RE: Bosch sells brake manufacturing business!

50901-C Safety Recall Notice stated that Workhorse would be ultimately providing the repair, so even if Bosch disappears, Workhorse is still responsible/liable.
Workhorse has the most at risk if Bosch dissolves.
I think everyone will be Ok in the end on this one. But I'll bet it takes years to fix everyone. 7 years of chassis production is going to be a huge job for the Workhorse repair centers to work thru.

RE: Air Suspension Question

I think the minimum psi is around 30-35#. Check the manual.
I started at 40# on my old coach and went up from there. I ran higher psi on one side to keep the coach level.
They really can help sway, but the ride roughens up as you increase psi.

RE: Touch-up Paint for BT Cruiser

Gulfstream used Precision Painting on my 2003. If you don't hear back from Gulfstream, contact Precision.

RE: Need Advice - New 2009 Fleetwood Tioga - 6 weeks of an issue

Great news that Fleetwood has stepped up to resolve your problems!
My guess is, and it's only a guess, that your motorhome will come back fixed to your satisfaction. If they are taking the time to pick it up from you, they will be spending the time to fix it right.
From what I have heard, Fleetwood is taking responsibility on warranty issues. Unlike Monaco. Pretty good effort for a company, owned by new owners, coming out of bankruptcy.
Be sure to let us know how it turns out.

RE: Just Picked Up JAYCO EMBARK- Love it!!

"The slide topper on the kitchen would be redundant since it is covered by the main awning."
That may be true, but what if you aren't using the awning? I tend to bring my patio awning in during a thunderstorm so it doesn't get damaged. Same thing when I stop for the night during a long trip. So I would still want a slide topper on all slideouts. I am surprised that a $300 slide topper is omited on a $200k motorhome.

RE: recommended roof AC units

We have two Dometic High Efficiency 13,500 units. Love them. They only use 10 amps each, so we can run both airs and the fridge on 30 amps.
Think they run $650 each thru Camping World.

RE: Gravity Water Fill

you wrote-"Now my question is: how do I get the sanitizer or water treatment into the tank when the tube is full of water except when it is actively filling?"
I use a funnel with a plastic tube to put bleach into the water tank. First fill the tank up 25%. Add beach and continue to fill the tank with water.
Bought the funnel at an auto parts store. Think it is meant to fill transmissions.
Be sure to flush the water tank after you empty the bleach water mix.
Happy camping!

RE: Soliciting Wheel Simulator Advice

On some of the less expensive wheel liners you must remove all wheel nuts to install the liner.
I had these and they were a PIA.
Currently have Dicor Versa Liners that came on my Gulstream. Don't need to remove all the wheel nuts to install. Plus I understand you can order replacement parts vs replacing an entire liner if you damage one.

RE: Building a garage in anticipation

A lot of good advice here.
I would recommend 13'6" door and interior clearance. Agree on the 50' length.
Mine is 13'6" door but only 42' long. If I go to a Class A sometime I will probably have to extend the rear of the barn. Much cheaper to do it during the initial construction the right way.
I love being able to keep my MH indoors. Stays a lot cleaner and no fading! Plus I am able to keep some windows open so we never get the stale smell inside.

RE: can i get a better price?

Look elsewhere. Dealer cost is around 29-31% off MSRP. Be sure the MSRP is the official one from the manufacturer.
So, if the MSRP is $100k, you should be able to buy one for $75k or less.
Good luck
