RE: A Rare Semi-Super C

E550 has front fender flares due the increased track of the monobeam suspension. I think the front track is somewhere around 10" wider than the E450. E550 was made from June 02 until March 03. I was lucky to get one of the last E550s off the line.

RE: Workhorse--Is there a brake problem on new units?

Bob, I have been told the W-22 chassis is still using the problematic brakes. Supposedly the fix won't be available until fall. I am going thru the same thing- thinking about getting a new motorhome but the possibility of brake problems on the Workhorse is pushing me to a Ford chassis.

RE: Just Checking In!

Welcome back Chuck. Glad the Dec procedure positively affected your life. I know it was a struggle for you at times. Great news about the business being up 37%. That is huge! Looks like Detroit area isn't dead afterall. Glad to hear it. Bet you don't wait a couple of years for the B+ once you sell your Bay. Once RVing is in your blood it is difficult to stay away. Plus there are some great deals out there.

RE: Installing outside assist handle at steps??

I have been able to locate the metal wall studs by leaving my motorhome outside overnight. In the morning, the studs are visable due to condensation forming over the steel studs on the fiberglass siding vs the foam insulation. Sounds a bit strange, but it really has worked for me over the years. Hasn't been wrong yet!

RE: 2009 22' GulFstream Yellowstone Class C Motorhome

I would think you should get around 10 mpg. Gulfstream makes a good class c.No real issues in general. One thing to check on- a lot of Yellowstones were in dealer rental fleets.

RE: Ford E550 with Scorpion diesel

I hope they bring back the E550 but I doubt they will. I have been told the market is just too small to justify the investment in the current economic climate. I love my E550 based C.

RE: Gulf Stream Class C Conquest

I can't speak for the model you are looking at but we have had 2 GS Conquest's and have loved both of them.

Michelin XRV vs XZE

I currently have Michelin XZA 225/70- 19.5 tires. They are in great shape but are now 7 years old. It appears XZA is no longer available in my size, so I trying to decide between the XRV abd XZE. I can't see much difference. Cost is approx $360 mounted and balanced. Does anyone have experience with either tire? Thanks

RE: Good buy or Good Bye on 07 Tourmaster

Check with GulfStream- they can tell you the axle weights when it left the factory.

RE: Bosch sells brake manufacturing business!

50901-C Safety Recall Notice stated that Workhorse would be ultimately providing the repair, so even if Bosch disappears, Workhorse is still responsible/liable. Workhorse has the most at risk if Bosch dissolves. I think everyone will be Ok in the end on this one. But I'll bet it takes years to fix everyone. 7 years of chassis production is going to be a huge job for the Workhorse repair centers to work thru.

RE: Air Suspension Question

I think the minimum psi is around 30-35#. Check the manual. I started at 40# on my old coach and went up from there. I ran higher psi on one side to keep the coach level. They really can help sway, but the ride roughens up as you increase psi.

RE: Need Advice - New 2009 Fleetwood Tioga - 6 weeks of an issue

Great news that Fleetwood has stepped up to resolve your problems! My guess is, and it's only a guess, that your motorhome will come back fixed to your satisfaction. If they are taking the time to pick it up from you, they will be spending the time to fix it right. From what I have heard, Fleetwood is taking responsibility on warranty issues. Unlike Monaco. Pretty good effort for a company, owned by new owners, coming out of bankruptcy. Be sure to let us know how it turns out.

RE: Just Picked Up JAYCO EMBARK- Love it!!

"The slide topper on the kitchen would be redundant since it is covered by the main awning." That may be true, but what if you aren't using the awning? I tend to bring my patio awning in during a thunderstorm so it doesn't get damaged. Same thing when I stop for the night during a long trip. So I would still want a slide topper on all slideouts. I am surprised that a $300 slide topper is omited on a $200k motorhome.
