RE: Frig not cooling while traveling?

I had problems with the fridge running on gas. Replace the thermocoupler to no avail. Then got a Dino board. Still no go. Finally found the solenoid valve to be bad and once that was replaced it has been fine. I always left home assuming it was running on gas because it started up when I disconnected the AC. Down the road I would find I had no flame and assumed it was blowing out. Started it up again and drove on only to find it out again later. The trial and error was frustrating but when I couldn't get it to stay lit standing still at home I knew the trouble was beyond simply blowing out on the road.

RE: Frig not cooling while traveling?

Mike T. Wouldn't the DC work just fine when on shore power because the problem with DC is primarily that running the fridge on DC runs down the battery quickly and if you are on shore power??????? Aren't you charging then???????

RE: truck license plates

Do you hook up the tie downs? The lights? The plate is just part of the process. Yes I have driven without a plate on the camper vice versa when I forget to move it one way or the other but I'm getting better at that. Just like adjusting the shocks when the camper goes on and readjusting when it comes off. I have driven a mile pulled over and knelt on each corner to make that adjustment! Some lessons we learn more quickly than others!

RE: Lance Camper Sealants

I got specific types from Lance or the forum and then Googled. Bought directly from Geocel people.

RE: Electrical problem....

Just replaced the converter for the second time. The first time was two years ago when we found that nice burn on the lino under the Magnatek. We went with a kit from bestconverter to replace the 6300. It included a new board and was pretty easy to do. I removed all wires and labeled with tape. My husband helped a bit with hooking all up again. Last couple of months I noticed that when moving about in the camper there was a break in the power to things. Lights on fridge eyebrow winked, LP moniter beeped, lights blinked. Thought there was some kind of loose wire and hadn't looked too closely as we weren't using it much. Then I took it for a 4 day outing and when I came home found the converter was not working. I could operate on battery OR use 120 to operate the AC at home on shore power but 12v lights would not work with the battery switch off. No charging the battery. Got a Xantrex 40A from bestconverter and installed it this morning myself. Only problem is it is too big for the housing so I will have to use mounting tape to keep it in place in there. Plugged it in a couple of hours ago and the tested things then fired up the fridge. I'm going back to check on the charge on the battery soon. Hopefully all is till well!
