RE: Jayco Owners

I too am an owner, my 3rd one, and I will never own anything but a Jayco product, except for the Fleetwood Discovery we also have.

RE: Grounding Generators

So, the Yammie 2400 does indeed have enough juice to throw my transfer switch. Good to know, cause that Generac 2000 watt did not apparently!

RE: Grounding Generators

I don't know of any reason that a Yamaha 2400is would have any trouble passing through my transfer switch in my 5er. You?

RE: Grounding Generators

oh, I understand that, but that has nothing to do with the fact that it would not power with the EMS in bypass mode. and the big Honda would.

RE: Grounding Generators

I will chime in here, I recently purchased the Generac 2000 watt inverter/generator (their version of the Honda) at Lowes. I decided I would try it cause it was a little cheaper. When I plugged it into my 5er, I of course got the open ground code on my EMS. I flipped it to bypass, and got an awful noise from the transfer switch area, sounded like power surges, etc and the generator never changed idle (loaded up). I even hooked the ground/neutral up on it to create the "bond" needed for it to pass thru my EMS, still, would not let any power in. I returned it this morning because something must be wrong with it. It would power up a drill, light, fan, etc, just not my 5er. I buddy of mine had a big Honda 6500 generator sitting on the ground at the race this past weekend. I plugged up to his and it worked just fine, in bypass mode. Not sure what the problem was here but want to know because I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Yamaha 2400is generator. Is it gonna do the same thing the Generac did due to its small output?

RE: 2010 Jayco Designer 35RLTS

The water filter is under the sink. They leave it loose for you to install if you want it. There is no gauge for the LP. If you want one you will have to install it. The battery gauge is on the same panel as your fresh water, grey, and black tanks.

RE: Progressive Industries EMS than the SurgeGuard?

Strange, took the cover off the new generator and noticed there is no neutral wire on the other side of the receptacle? How is this thing even producing power at all?

RE: Progressive Industries EMS than the SurgeGuard?

ok, new problem here. I tried to hook up a small portable generator to my 5er. It is a Generac 2000 watt, looks just like the Honda only is yellow. Anyway, I have no power in the 5er because I am getting the "open ground" error code, which I expected. I thought I could just put the switch in "bypass mode" to get power? Nope, it makes a strange electrical noise when I try that?? So, what is causing that? Everything is working as it should off of shore power and my big built in Genset, but just not the small genny? Do I just need to ground it somehow?

I guess not? I just thought you hooked a wire up to that or something? Can you show me a pic of yours?

got it hooked up, but do not have very good reception. I am not real sure how to hook up the antenae to this thing? I assume that is what the 3rd wire in the harness was for??

RE: power plus leveling system

I am considering the two point system just because I want to handle side to side leveling only. Not sure how this would twist the frame anymore than driving up onto blocks of wood? I would think you would use the leveling jacks to get the 5er level side to side before you unhook from the truck. Then, as long as you get your two landing legs the same you should be fine.

RE: Anybody install an Ultra Fab remote system themselves?

I guess you can just use the switches on the side of the ultra fab control box as you 2nd set of switches. As for the wiring, I guess you just unplug the extend/retract wires from the back of the slide (or, awning, jacks, etc) switch and hook them up to the ultra fab as directed?

RE: Anybody install an Ultra Fab remote system themselves?

Did you have to disable your slide out switches inside the RV and the factory switch for the rear stabilizers to make it all work? Curious because my rig came with the remote for the front landing gear yet the switch works them also.

I guess if it bothers me enough I will get the factory to repair it. As for now, I dont even pay much attention to it really?
