RE: Attn: WalMart campers!

When I need to stop & get a little shut eye, I like to go to the local Police Station and ask to spend a few hours in their parking lot. Very secure... john 'I am Canadian'

RE: Showers

CSG and Bananadanna... You guys should try Handbasket's idea of a garden sprayer for a source of a warm shower. I have and I found it adequate if getting clean was the objective, and not having a 20 minute soaker. Then of coarse there's the save the world technique of showering together to save water... 8-) john 'I am Canadian'

RE: To Connect/Disconnect or Tow a car??

Hi Frank I spend 3 or more months in Fla each winter in a 20 year old 'B'. I go to the park, set out levelers etc. My fridge can hold about a week to 10 days worth of grub, then I have to drive to get more supplies. I unhook and go to the dump station, then go grocery shopping, sight seeing etc. then go back to the cg and back onto the blocks, and hook up the elec etc. The most time consuming part is putting everything away that's inside before leaving. john 'I am Canadian'

Turning Stone

For those who are interested, and for those who were there, the July issue of 'Trailer Life', on page 29 has a blurb about the Villages at Turning Stone. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

That's a great story.. I hope you enjoyed the views of the Falls from 'our' side. I'm sure it was the latter and you looked innocent, especially on your side of the rig. Sometimes if the passenger looks ok they'll overlook the guilty looking driver. 8-) john 'I am Canadian'

Mumkin... That square end screwdriver is called a 'Robertson' screwdriver. Some folks call it a 'square drive'. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: 2010 Seventh Annual RV.net Class B Rally (B7)

Hi Y'all eh!!! Well I think I won at the casino... I didn't go near it. Once again everything was just the way it should be.. weather, CG, food, entertainment, and everyone got along like best friends, as we always do. Thanks Bruce n Teresa and all those who put so much effort into it. You are very special people... and then to hogtie your offspring to entertain.. 8-) Also a huge tip of the cap to all those who were so generous to me after hearing of my misfortune... It is very much appreciated... thanks to you all. Hugs john 'I am Canadian'

Ennajean... Don't forget your passports, and leave your firearms at home. When going through Detroit, go by the Ambassador bridge. The Tunnel is starting construction and it's a total bottleneck almost all the time now. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: Kevorkian's Class B on eBay?

That was on the news from Detroit. It's in very rough condition. The last inhabitant was a family of raccoons. The guy who has it was K's landlord. He had no comment about the Dr. Death thing, but said he expects to retire from the proceeds... at least partially. It was offered to the Henry Ford Museum but they turned him down. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: Eternabond roof sealer

You should make sure that what is already there is NOT silicone. Eternabond is great stuff, but it will not stick to silicone. Also, When using it, make SURE that you put it exactly where you want it and God help you if you make a mistake. Almost impossible to remove. Having said all that, I've used it a couple times and it is a wonderful product. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: Fire

Hi folks... to answer some questions... Glassgirl.. I'm going home using a rented car and Motel 6s, and MC. Chirpnchicks...Not much stuff was redeemable. Few clothes and a few things that were inside other containers. There will not be an autotopsy... no original DNA left. John...You're the Poobah of the Order of Obsolete Prehistoric Rvs The POOPeR. Luv you man!!! Lynne... Definately not the fridge.. it was 110V only. (no leveling) Anyway thank you all for your concern and maybe I'll see y'all at another rally somewhere down the road. john 'I am Canadian'

Fire

John Harrop here.... My rig caught fire on I 75 in Florida on Saturday and was totalled. The entire engine area and dashboard was reduced to melted toxic fumes plastic. No cause determined. I'm ok and am now on the way home after wintering in the sunshine state. john 'I am Canadian'

RE: Turn off the propane when underway!

As far as refueling... We all know that we are safe and know how to refuel safely, but the guy on the other side of the island with the Toyota may be an idiot and may have the hose out enough to release fumes into the atmosphere and those fumes may come in contact with our flames of our appliances, and when that happens... well, crispy critters??? Better to turn it off while fueling. Don the road, unless it's faulty no real reason to turn it off. MNSHO john 'I am Canadian'

RE: 2 am retreat to a hotel

Here's an idea, would it be possible for you to turn your queen (the bed, not the DW) into 2 twin beds? Just a thought... john 'I am Canadian'
