RE: LP Tank still more than half-full, but shuts off

To bleed the tank when filling, there is a small (5/16") knobbed screw head to the right of the fill connection on my 1997 Pleasureway propane tank. When filling, the attendants have opened this screw valve enough to hear/see the release of air, and eventually liquid propane or water first if any is in the tank. My valve even has a circular plastic tag stating to look for the release of a liquid. This is NOT the safety pressure switch.
Be sure that all nearby flames are extinguished, and you may need to air the van out for a couple of minutes after filling to get rid of the released propane gas odor. MDW usually gets out of the van when we are having the tank filled.

RE: LP Tank still more than half-full, but shuts off

You may want to make sure that the person filling your tank is bleeding off the tank as it is being filled, otherwise it will have a lot of volume just filled with air and possibly water, as condensation takes place with changing temperatures. I had some water come out of my bleed valve last summer on a fill-up.

RE: Cost of New Class B's-Why do you want them?

We just completed a 15 week, 11,000 mile trip in our "B". We never found a campground site that we couldn't fit in to, were able to park almost anywhere, including downtown locations, and achieved an average of 15 MPG.
We are also able to park it in our driveway to use as a second vehicle, can take it to the beach and use it as our changing room, and always have snacks, lunch and beverages with us. If the temperature outside gets hotter or colder, we just stop and change our clothing to match the elements. We did this a number of times while traveling out West this summer, as the mornings would start out cool, warming into the 80's during the day, then cool again as the sun set.
