RE: 2010 GMC 2500HD

Update. I'm looking for a gas 6.0. I just used GM's web site and searched the east coaast from Portland, ME to Washington, DC. No 2500HD work trucks on any dealer lot that I could find. Any word on ordering?

2010 GMC 2500HD

Can anyone tell me about the availability of a 2010 GMC 2500HD 4x4 ext cab work truck? I've emailed 3 different dealers and only one has responded. He claims that they aren't available. Anyone seen one, or know if they can be ordered? Thanks.

RE: Brussel Sprouts ??

real short and easy.
dice up some uncooked bacon. spread on a sheet pan and cook part way thru in a 350 oven. Remove the sprout stems. Half the sprouts and remove any bad outer leaves. mix together with the bacon and bacon drippings. put back in the oven and cook until centers are tender. Enjoy.

RE: Boondocking battery power?

When I'm dry camping in state parks, that's the way I roll. Camper battery is for the water pump and recharging the laptop and cell phone. Lighting is done with LED AA lights from a marine supply. Hot water is heated on the gas stove. Doing it this way I can go at least 5 days without draining the battery. For backup I used to carry a booster battery pack now I have a small 1000 watt gennie. Usually I don't even need the backup. (Laptop also has a tv tuner, DVD, and aircard.)

RE: FORD-UAW issues

I work for Ford and am a UAW member. I can tell you at my plant the main problems people saw were 1. The no strike clause. 2. We had already given back to the company. 3. Executive pay.
Most people I talked to felt we had given up enough already. Time will tell.
I don't work at Ford. BUT...why more givebacks when the company just turned a profit and is expected to continue to be profitable into the future.

RE: covering our camper

I tarp mine with a heavy duty truckers tarp. The a/c forms a sloped shape which allows the snow to slide off and also allows air circulation between the tarp and roof. The tarp does not totally wrap the camper, only the roof and about halfway down the sides. Been doing this for 9 years and never had any leaks, mold, or abrasions.

RE: AT&T Air Card

My 2 cents worth.
I had Cell One because they were the only ones with coverage at my home. Never had a problem with phone or aircard, traveling all over the country. They had great roaming agreemants with other companies so there was never a dead area. Never any roaming fees either. AT&T bought out CellOne. I had to buy a new aircard because they switched the towers near the house to another technology (?). I'm currently in Maine and spent three hours on the phone with tech support because I was connecting to the tower but could not get internet. Finaly the second tech I talked to admitted they did not have any towers near me but that I was accessing them thru a 'partner agreement'. Wonderful signal strength, but the tower would not connect to the internet. I had to uninstall and reinstall all of my aircard software, and now I might get dropped on a whim, or maybe not connect at all.
Am I pleased? Give me back CellOne!

RE: Fryeburg Fair, Maine

Sorry I missed you all. Nope, no note. I went looking for you Tuesday but the office gave me bad directions to your site. By the time I found it Wednesday, you had already left. We'll have to meet at a jamboree sometime.

RE: 2000 Sunlite Eagle SB for 4000.00 ?

I can second all the comments about it being a good little camper. As for the price..... that's what I paid for my '99 7 years ago. Either I got a hell of a deal or it's held it's value.

RE: Fryeburg Fair, Maine

I just came from there.......tried to look-up Scott, but he hadn't arrived yet. I did see more truck campers than I expected. Everybody have fun at the Fair...:)...TD
Sorry I missed you. I got off to a late start because I had to rebuild a jack to get the camper loaded.
Lane, I'll try to catch up tomorrow (Tuesday). Or, stop by after the races. Only truck camper inside the Orange gate.

RE: Three OUTFITTERs spotted on the hoof !!!

travelinglane: I'll be working at Fryeburg, maybe we'll bump into each other.
silversand: I had the same thing happen to me last year in VT. I had a guy that wanted to buy my 10 year old camper right off the truck. Must be a real shortage of TC's up here.

I never said I wanted to be OLD and TIRED! I'm already TIRED. Have fun, don't sit too close to the campfire, and enjoy the good times.
PS, Jim look out. I don't think they've forgotten the rabies comments.

This is what I have: Gen
Reliable, quiet, less than a Honda. Does not meet your run time requirement.
