RE: Now for the long wait

WTM,
Bet you will have it by the end of January, RT does not have any 2010 Chevy's with the 6.0L engine in stock at present time, but will have them shortly.
When they do get them in it should take at least nine (9) working days for it to be completed.

RE: Chevy 4.8L V8 Engine-vs- Chevy 6.0L V8 Engine

Looking at the RoadTrek Web Site, Specifications, comparing information on the engines on a 2002 Dodge RoadTrek Engine, 318, and 360, RoadTrek, 2008 Chevy RoadTrek Engine, and the 2009 Chevy RoadTrek Engine, I read the following.
2002 Dodge - 318 Engine: 5.2L - 225 HP
2002 Dodge - 360 Engine: 5.9L - 245 HP
2008 Chevy - Engine: 6.0L - 323 HP
2009 Chevy - Engine: 4.8L SFI - 285 HP
Does this mean that the 2009 Chevy with the 4.8L SFI Engine, 285 HP, has more power than a 2002 Dodge with the 5.9L Engine, 245 HP?
Would the 4.8L be roughly equivalent to the 318CI in the older Dodge units?
I realize that the 4.8L engine is smaller.
Would appreciate a clarification.

Chevy 4.8L V8 Engine-vs- Chevy 6.0L V8 Engine

Would like to have information, pros/cons on the Chevrolet 4.8L V8 Engine -vs- the Chevrolet 6.0L V8 Engine.
Is the 6.0L better than the 4.8L, and why did RoadTrek go to the 4.8L, I do realize that the 4.8L is now the standard engine.
I understand that it is not a very powerful engine for a 1 ton van, is this so?

RE: Rain Gutter Caulking Replacement on a B

Joe,
Checked my 2002 Dodge RT, I am unable to see any caulking in my rain gutters.
My roof comes all the way down to the gutter, of course I have the Vinyl strapping that wraps around the bottom of the roof and above the gutter.

RoadTrek with NC Plates in AL

On Sunday, October 4, 2009 our daughter and her husband were traveling in AL, city/town unknown, between 2-3 PM when she saw a RoadTrek which she believes was a Dodge RoadTrek, with NC Plates, RRC2664 parked at a restaurant.
What attracted her to the RoadTrek was the plate RRC2664, as our MA plates on our RoadTrek is RC7, and our E-mail address is RRCRT.
Was it anyone on this group?

Pros/Cons 2009/2010 Chevy Class B with 4.8L V-8

I understand that the 2009/2010 RoadTreks will come standard with the 4.8L V-8 instead of the standard 6.0L V-8, also understand that the 6.0L V-8 with locking differential & external transmission cooler is optional with a cost of $1,677.00, used to be $520.00.
Would imagine that the 2009/2010 Pleasure-Way's would also come with the 4.8L V-8 as standard.
What is the difference on the RoadTrek Models now coming standard with a 4.8L V-8 instead of the standard 6.0L V-8 or the optional 6.0L V-8 with locking differential & external transmission cooler.
Does the 4.8L V-8 increase the gas mileage, will it cause the engine to work harder, what is the benefit for having a 4.8L V-8?

Wayne, that is not a RoadTrek, appears to be a Pleasure-Way, and I believe it is the Lexor.

RE: 4 Winds Ventura 155S

The rear looks alot like the RoadTrek 210, notice how it fits real nice in the rear ontop of the 2 rear doors as compared to other Class B's.
You don't see the black molding on top of the rear doors like the RoadTrek 190, Pleasure-Way Lexor, and Free Flight.

RE: Oil & Filter Information

Hi Joe,
I was glad that Borman Ford here in Las Cruces, NM were concerned about the Oil, and that they changed the oil and replaced the oil with the proper amount and the preferred oil of 10W-30.
I also appreciate that both Chrysler Customer Assistance and my dealership service provider Hiller Chrysler/Dodge, Marion, MA were concerned and E-mailed me several times advising me.
Also, I am glad that I had checked out the paper work at my sister In-laws home, (I should have done it at the dealership) the red flag went up when I saw the 6 quarts, and the 5W-30.
I do not hold anything against Borman Ford, they have been very good, and they appear to be a good dealership, but mistakes do happen.
They do many oil changes each day, folks are waiting in line, 2 rows for change of oil, never seen an operation such as they have.
By the way Rose and I along with the 3 little Beagles, Brother's Snoopy-Peanut and sister Daisy will be heading back home to MA after Labor Day.
Maybe we can get together at the Canal soon.

RE: Oil & Filter Information

UPDATE:
On my Oil & Oil Filter change, did speak with Ron at Borman Ford in Las Cruces, NM on Thursday of this week, he informed me to bring my vehicle in, stated I would.
Friday morning drove to Borman Ford, meantime when driving to Borman Ford they called as they were going to send someone to the house to drain some of the oil, but I was driving into their dealership.
When checking the oil dipstick the oil was beyond the last line which indicates SAFE, and the oil reading was on the O of the NOT that states DO NOT OVERFILL.
Ron did state it was over the amount, took my vehicle in and they replaced my oil with the proper amount.
Also, my Chrysler/Dodge dealership Hiller Chrysler/Dodge, Jay Hiller sent me an E-mail informing me to have Borman take out a quart of oil, as my vehicle calls for 5 quarts of oil with new filter.
Thanks for those who sent me E-mails concerning my problem.

RE: Oil & Filter Information

There is no Chrysler-Dodge dealer here, was informed that the dealership was closed by Chrysler/Dodge.
Also the Ford dealership had the proper lift for my Class B.

Oil & Filter Information

Today had my Oil and Filter changed at a Ford Dealership here in Las
Cruces, NM as I am visiting here, and will be returning home to New Bedford, MA, also they had the proper lift for my RoadTrek.
After leaving the dealership, and coming back to my sister in-laws home I looked at the paper work and noticed that they added 6 quarts of oil, also added the 5W-30 motor oil.
The 2002 Dodge manual states for a 5.9L engine to add 5.0 quarts of oil with new Filter. (Page 200 - 2002 Dodge owners manual).
Also the manual states that the preferred oil is SAE 10W-30 engine oil.(Pg 165 of manual).
I would like to know from those with a 2002 Dodge RoadTrek/PleasureWay, etc, if they have 6 quarts or 5 quarts of oil added with a new filter, and if they use the 10W-30 preferred oil as suggested by Dodge.
I do know that my Dodge Dealer, Hiller Chrysler-Dodge in Marion, MA adds the 10W-30 oil, and if correct I believe they add 5 quarts of oil with a new filter.
