RE: using crockpot while traveling.

Why not cook the day before and re-heat in the microwave?
It is what we do.

RE: Hardest part

Just control the things you can control. Tire pressure, weight distribution, sway control, brake controller, lights, and making sure your tow car/truck is the correct match for your trailer.
Make sure some of these are your daily pre tow ritual and keep vigilent. You will be fine.

RE: Aqua Hot Got Me In Bad Books Again?

I see from your profile that you have a 2009 Allegro Bus. You also say that every time you go camping someone complains and that the last time, a guy complained by banging on the door. Seems like you do have a problem. Either a miss-behaving Aqua Hot or you select campgrounds with really picky neighbors
We have been RVing for many years and never once have I found an Aqua Hot objectionable. (I am a light sleeper)
I would get yours checked out.
Also, wander around the next campground you visit and try and work out your noise compared to other coaches.

RE: electric tounge jack

Could be a low battery as others have suggested.
When I had my trailer, that happened a lot until I connected a second battery and then no more problems.

RE: Removing Fuse 09 Honda

My Saturn also reqires a fuse pull. Rather than do this every day, I fitted an isolation switch inside the car, wired through the fuse.
Works great.

RE: Tow Bar Which one

Consider an "all terain" bar as unhitching when not level and straight can sometimes be a real pain.
Also consider a direct link to the towed car brakes as that kind of system is less likely to false brake compared to inertia based systems.

RE: GPS device for traveling

Am at Salt Lake KOA and the exit off I15 was closed due to construction. The GPS routed me safely to the destination

RE: Advice on campgrounds in Yellowstone and Tetons

We are in Griz right now.
It is a long drive to all the features from Griz but just acceptable right now. That will change from about the 17th Aug as the Madison Norris road will close completly. Right now it is open via pilot car but it will involve a 30 - 45 min wait. IMHO, the best place to lauch a tour of the whole park is from Fishing Bridge (it has 30 amp sewer water). The only campground in the park which has. You will dry camp at most others.
Book Fishing Bridge now as it is busy and your MH is at the length limit for the CG.
Griz is also full most nights so phone ahead.

RE: Hensley OCL Problem

I think Will has it right. By the way I meant to say screw the threads in, ie shortern them as that will make it easier to latch over. I seem to remember they needed a bit of working to loosen up.

RE: Hensley OCL Problem

Are they stiff when trying to latch?
I found mine were when the stinger was not properly seated. I usually had to retry hitching by adjusting the the height or angle of the hitch head and/or the looseness of the arms.
They were also sensitive to being the correct length. You may need to unscrew the OCLs half a turn or more.

RE: Low Bridges

Garmin 465T. You put it your height (make sure you have a whip antenna! and it will not route you under a bridge you cannot fit under when in truck mode. I have used one for 2 months and it is great. It will even route you arround traffic holdups.

RE: Highway/Bridge weight limitations

Unless it is a 'New' ie recently downrated limit, the Garmin 465T would not have taken you that way in truck mode.

RE: GPS Recommendations....

I was using the Garmin 2610 and now have The Garmin 465T. I love it. We are in the middle of a 3 month road trip and it really works well in truck and car mode. The auto traffic alert has routed us down truck 'side roads' under bridges that we can fit under.

RE: Flashing Lights In Campground

Where is the balance these days.
Someone will bang on about rights but what has happened to Civic behaviour.
IMHO rights also bring with them responsabilities. I'm sure the Founding Fathers thought that this was a given.

RE: GARMIN & DEAD BATTERY

Be very carefull about making coincidental connections. I have had several instances where I have wrongly connected a recent change with what turned out to be an unrelated incident. I am not saying the two are or are not connected.

RE: Workhorse W22 2007 with 12K miles rear transmission fail

It is on the way out. Really loud whine at 2200 rpm 2800 rpm and 3600 rpm under engine load. The Tech checked the fluids, all ok then Workhorse made him take it for another ride with the air con on and radio!!! It failed that noise test as well!!
I really hope it does not take a month as we are on our annual trip from Florida and are currently in Billings. Nice KOA by the way and the people at Hansers (the truck people) are very helpful. They are letting me know tomorrow when a replacement unit is coming.
