RE: Anyone use Michelen LTX A/T2 on their TV?

I am currently running the LTX A/S. This is my second set of these tires. The first set lasted 60K miles. Bought mine at Costco.

Winter storage question

During the off season, we store our tt at a private storage yard. No power, just a spot to park and cover the rig. My question is should I leave one of the vents cracked open or closed tight?

RE: I-90 To West Yellowstone, MT

We took 287 south out of Three Forks towing our 31' tt and had no problems. Very beautiful scenery along the Madison River. Staying at Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone makes a great place to explore the west end of the park. We then moved to Fishing Bridge to see the east side. We are planning to go back again next summer.

Break away switch

How does one reinsert the pin on the break away switch?

RE: Dodge boys don't take this one lying down.......

Funny....LOL Anyone including myself can whip up a photoshop pic. Here's my version! :p Took all but 5 minutes. Would anyone like me to fill the bed with a couple tons of rice? http://www.huffmantaxidermy.com/ford.jpg Rice for the Powerstroke? :B

RE: Dodge boys don't take this one lying down.......

As long as I can get the Cummins engine in it, I don't care what the badge on the outside says. ...and the preacher said, "amen". If they offered the Cummins engine and the Allison tranny, they wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand IMHO.

RE: Synthentic Oil in a Diesel Engine??

You could install a by-pass oil filter and extend your drain intervals.

RE: Generator for 2008 Keystone Springdale

You are limited by your 30 amp plug. A 3000 watt generator will probably do just fine. A lot of people like the Champion 3500 watt with the 30 amp RV recepticle built in. Champion model#C46540. Check you local Schuck's Auto. A 5000 amp generator would be HUGE!

RE: Synthentic Oil in a Diesel Engine??

Having an oil sample taken and tested will let you know the true condition of the oil. Amsoil and other synthetic brands hold up better than conventional oils thus saving you money by extending the drain intervals. The every 3k oil change is a myth that makes dealers and oil companies lots of money. And no I am not an Amsoil rep.

RE: What's the Norm - Barking Dogs / Rude Campers

We have camped next to rude people many times. The lack of being respectful of other people is amazing. I have even thought of using caution tape to keep people from walking through our campsite. Most state parks have rules that limit noise after certain hours. More than once I have talked to a park ranger about unruly campers. After all, I paid for my space and I want to enjoy it!

RE: How long is too long?

Our tt is 34'-11" from hitch to bumper. With our tow vehicle I am pushing 57'. There are a lot of camping spots you can get into, but the problem I've found is enough room to manuver into the spot. There always seem to be a tree just in the wrong place. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Our next rig will be a fiver. Our tow vehicle is a Dodge 2500 and I wouldn't tow with anything smaller.

RE: Cell Phone service in Yellowstone Nat Park?

In 2007 we stayed at Fishing bridge park for a week. We drove a short distance to Mary's Bay and was able to get some cell phone service. Not great service, but at least we could call out.

RE: DVD player replacement

Have you thought of just connecting a portable DVD? Or do you actually watch it that much while camping? We watch movies at night while camping especially when it is raining. I just bring our 26" hdtv from our bedroom and we have great movies. We enjoy laughing at the old movie collections and the kids get a kick out if them. It's all about family time and being together.

DVD player replacement

Our memorex sts71E dvd player quit working on our last trip. What would be be a good replacement that has 5.1 surround sound capability?

RE: Glacier National Park

We just back from Glacier and enjoyed the views. We stayed at North American RV Park on the west side and KOA on the east side. Our favorite day was when we took the evening Red Bus tour to Logan Pass. Fred the driver was a wealth of information that made the trip invaluable. The east side is more remote and has limited services. On the way home, our family still chose Yellowstone as our favorite park.

Alpine Country Store & RV Park

We just got back from a two week trip to Glacier NP. On the way back we wanted to take our kids to Silverwood Theme Park in Hayden, ID so we stayed a few days at Alpine Country Store & RV Park. The sites are very large and spacious enough for any big rig. We were even able to pick up several HD TV programs via our antenna. What we did not like about the park was no wifi. Trains that blew their whistle at all hours of the day or night. Bathrooms and showers that were extremely dirty and one washer and dryer. This could be a first rate park if the owner cared and invested in upgrading the facilities.
