A friend just had to replace his engine,$ 14,000 and a huge tow bill.He knew the dealer who was able to get him a new (02)Sprinter engine in only 3 months. I am a Ford guy,the highest mileage so far for me was 750,000 and it had no problems when I sold it.Friends do the same in the expediting business with Dodge and Chevy. My next van will be a Chevy as I like the extra width of the rear door opening ,durability and parts are much less than a Ford. I will get an extended 2500 as I'm convinced after talking with other pro drivers that the tranny and rear ends are the best in the business.I can't prove it tho.Lol .Brands are kind of like a rabbit foot,if you have good luck you stick with that.I'm undecided on engine options. At two of the companies that we drove for we were warned that we would have to replace water pumps at 160,000 miles($900)tranny at 180,000 ( 5,000) ,brakes every 80,000 ($3000) the rotors and calipers often need replaced at each brake job.Bare in mind we use these vans as commercial vehicles and this is only to forewarn us to have the money and prove we have inspections done professionally at given times. RE: Awnings on a B. Do you use them.

Used my awning a lot on my homemade B . But not so much on my small A . The B awning was so simple to use compared to the bigger one .

RE: Boondocking - Yellowstone or Glacier?

At a campround in Yellowstone there was a Forest Service Cabin , I went in ask is they knew of any place to camp . They sent my down a road just past their office to several places with one to five camp sites . One of the best finds on the trip . Hot springs close by , beaver in the creek , could not be beat . ASK !

RE: Heading to Key West

Boyds Key West Campground is on Stock Island . You can take the city bus to town every 30min. . Get the week pass and if over 50 get the senior discount , must have cash for pass . There are other campgrounds on Stock Island Leos etc. , Boyds is nicest but expensive . You can get away with overnite in Publix parking lot on Key West also . Spend the day at the beach , nite at Publix . Bus has a bike rack , ride bike take bus back . HAVE FUN !
