RE: collective wisdom on price

Yes, it has low miles, but with the age the tires should be replaced and other things on an RV age also regardless of miles. The price is way too high no matter what. As was mentioned earlier, I would call Great American in Fife and tell them what you are looking for. If you want a realistic idea of prices check out Van City.

They are a long way from you, but they will pick you up at the airport and I have never heard a bad report about them.
Good luck.

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

More than 176 pictures, it means 176 different Bs. I'm not trying to start a competition, just keeping track for my own curiosity. There was one picture of a VW camper rally that had dozens, I didn't count them. I have been lucky to live in areas that have lots of RVs of all types.

RE: Roof maintence

HTRJ, that looks like great stuff for fiberglass. It says that colored or painted fiberglass might need to be lightly sanded to get rid of oxidation. I wonder what that might do to the decals that most factory rigs have?

RE: Class B Snowbirds

Since 2003 we have been reverse snowbirds, leaving Arizona in March for the Olympic Peninsula and returning in October. There were also trips to New England and Canada interspersed.

RE: Coleman ProCat Catalytic Propane Portable Space Heater

If you want to use the vehicles propane tank then you are limited to the brand of heater you can use. The Mr Heater type has a built-in regulator which means that you can't use the RV's already regulated fuel. I adapted a Mr Heater once by taking it apart and removing the regulator and then adding hose fittings. It is not for everyone. If you are not familiar with propane systems you should not attempt it. If you are set on using the RV supply for a Coleman type heater you could tap off the refrigerator's supply and put a valve and quick disconnect fitting on the end of the tubing. It could be left inside a cupboard and all you would have to do is crack the cupboard door for room to run the hose. You might be better off with a really good sleeping bag and just heat the rig when you wake up. A B doesn't take long to heat up. Heating water for coffee takes the chill off.

RE: Coleman ProCat Catalytic Propane Portable Space Heater

Even the small one may be a lot for a B even with the poor insulation they typically have. If you do go that way be sure to have some ventilation. I used cats for years, Mr Heater included but I always wanted an oxygen sensor. They also tend to produce water vapor which in cold weather will condense on windows and walls.

Lights, water pump, TV etc. Most of us can go 2 nights on 1 battery if we are careful.

RE: how to attach kittywalk cozy climber

From the picture it seems to be made to hang from a door. It looks like you would have to drill some holes and fabricate a bracket to hold the gadget. I would be very careful doing something like this.

RE: Worry about discrimination because of little "B"

Forget it, we have had both kinds and discrimination is not a factor with RVers. They are just as friendly as ever. Some of them will be thinking of downsizing and will want to peek at yours.

RE: Class B vs. Big Rigs

We had larger type RVs for 30 years and loved them. In 05 we downsized to a B and love it. All the years we had large rigs I never heard anyone talk about how much better his was than another type. Since we have had a B I have constantly read posts from other B owners touting how much better Bs are. Could it possibly be that some B owners are insecure? For every benefit a B has I can give you a negative aspect and the same for a large rig. Lets not get ourselves tagged as elitists, the RV community is a good one no matter what they use.

This fellow showed up today from Alaska, obviously enjoying the weather. It has been around awhile, has the old Alaska yellow plates. I need to start using HDWs camera, it takes better pictures. #173
