RE: Who made my batteries?

This might help some. I got this from the Consumer Reports.
xnorp
Most auto batteries are made by just three manufacturers, Delphi, Exide, and Johnson Controls Industries. Each makes batteries sold under several different brand names. Delphi makes ACDelco and some EverStart (Wal-Mart) models. Exide makes Champion, Exide, Napa, and some EverStart batteries. Johnson Controls makes Diehard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford), and some EverStarts

RE: Veteran's Day

On PBS channels this evening are two shows that I think are worth watching about our troops the first being "The Way We Get By" Senior citizens Bill Knight, Jerry Mundy and Joan Gaudet have greeted nearly 800,000 American troops. The Second is Medal of Honor stories and interviews. These are all on PBS check you local listings.

RE: Sept. trip: SW Montana, Flathead Lake & Glacier NP

Great post and nice pictures. Where we were raised sure brings back memories of camping and fishing and just floating down a river or creek. Thanks for the write up, looking forward to the next part. Hope all is OK with your wife and hope it did not slow her down to much or ruin her vacation.
Thanks again

RE: New to TCs - Need help in making selection

First off you have the right truck you can haul most campers and tow your M/C with no problem. There sure are lots to look at and decide on. One that you did not mention is North Star they make hard side and pop up campers. And are a very good product with good customer service. A T/C is not going to be a big 5er like you have now but it will serve what you are asking. I use a Honda 2000 for my camper. Do your research and check them all out sounds like you are not in hurry so just take your time and make sure you get what YOU want in a camper. Good luck have fun in your search that is part of the fun or at least was for me.

RE: Gray Tank--Black Tank Probes

Thanks for the information on how to do one of those clickey things. My friend has only installed them on his gray tank the black tank will be more of a challenge. He said so far the ones in the gray tank are working great, empty shows empty he is happy so far. Mine like the rest is sitting out there all empty but not showing empty for sure. Looks like a spring project coming up.

Gray Tank--Black Tank Probes

I have a friend that is trying out these and so far he is pleased. I know there are other systems out there but most of us have the basic set up and this seems to me like a cheap way to get a system that will work. I have nothing to do with the company and am just passing on the information.

RE: Screws in the ceiling

Try to find some "Fix-All" comes in powder forum you add water and make it into a thick compound and place it in the hole. It dries in about 30 minutes and when dry can be drilled and sanded it hardens very hard and can be used in wood or cement. A good product and cheap. Good luck.

RE: TC reversed?

The front of most truck campers and the roof are sloped toward the front of the camper so the wind is not hitting a flat surface. If mounted backward won't it be hitting the flattest part of the camper with out some kind of wind deflector on the cab of the truck. Just my thoughts.

RE: Oil Changes on a trip?

I have used Walmarts they get the job done. Also buy my filter at a store that has them and go to a truck stop ( where they service big rigs ) go back and talk to them and they worked me in every time and put in the oil I asked for and then did a inspection of the oil change ( how much tork is on the oil plug and check dip stick and check for leaks at the filter and plug ) And they were cheaper than Walmart by a couple of bucks very happy with the big rig oil changes.

RE: Atwood Thermostat - need help

The easiest answer is to replace it with a digital one. I got one at Walmart for under 20 dollars much better than the old one. Good luck.

RE: generator shuts off

Could it be a bad low oil switch? If the switch is bad it would tell the generator to shut down. Just a thought good luck.

RE: Source for increasing rear suspension

I have Super Springs on mine and they did just what I wanted them to do. You can look them up on the net. Give them a call if you are interested. They are great folks to talk with. I have no interest in the company other than letting you know that I am pleased with there product.

RE: grey water smell

I may be way off base here. But I had a camper once that I would get a sewer smell in the bathroom/shower area. I found that under the shower there is a trap like in your sinks and the water in there would be gone and let the odor up through the shower drain. I now add water to the shower drain after I dump my tanks and if the TC has sat for a while. Worked for me. Good luck.
