I want to have a superslide installed and was wondering what a fair price is to have it done hitch and all or should I attempt it myself. I think I need the 16k model. Thanks.

I think ours was $2300 installed, decide on wether you want the apadter plate welded or bolted on the pin plate before you have your dealer do that
part. Ours is welded to the pin plate. I would have preferred the bolted method but my dealer didnt ask me.

Doesnt look to hard to mount your self but you'll need to make fairly
accurate measurements and plenty of time under the truck wrenching.

Since we wanted the new wiring added to put the 7 pin in the bed
and I didnt have the time to mount the adapter plate at the dealer,
I decided to let them do the entire install.

If the under the bed mounting plates are not pretty darn close and centered you 'll have a tough time mounting the rails on the pins.
Mine was off a smig, and its a bear to take it in and out. I ended up
taking it back to the dealer and they adjusted the plated under the truck so they were perfect. This made a huge diiference when I
took the rails off the pins in the bed to remove everything for the
winter.

Good luck

Thanks, are you happy overall with the superslide? Would you do it again?

You bet !!!...Its a nice piece of engineering and its built
pretty tough..Thick metal and nice welds..and best of all
its works without you having to worry about the 5er knocking
out your rear cab window.

You have to be with 16 degrees (from being lined up) to hook up and unhook...thats
the only limitation I see...Not sure about a std 5er hitch

I take it you have a short box...Dont need one if you have a long box.

My experience is that an installed price range is $2,100. to $2,300. Great hitch. As someone else mentioned, solid construction. Peace of mind to know that your short bed truck cab will be safe under all turning situations makes the hitch price worth while. I've also found mine to be much quieter while pulling because of the close tolerances that PullRite builds in around the kingpin receiver. Yes, I would also do it again! Good luck.

Thanks for your input everybody. Yes, I have a shortbox, just tired of the long box around town. I have a husky hitch right now that I like, but I know that I am going to forget the slide one of these times. I think I have a buyer for it and will probably do the upgrade. Thanks again.

Terry,

I installed my own 16k Superglide last year. I found installed price of $2150 around Minneapolis. I bought mine from Camperschoice.com - price around $1700 with shipping, if I remember right. Install took basic tools and about 5 hours of time. Instructions from Pullrite are great - made for an easy job. Install is documented with photos in the "My Pictures" link in my sig. Agree with the recommendation to bolt the adapter plate to the pin box. It's a great, solid hitch.

Good Luck!

Terry,
I completed an install of a 16K Superglide this past weekend. Don's pictures helped me tremendously - Thanks Don! As mentioned above, BigdiscountRV is where I purchased mine, but please call them (ask for Don, you can tell him I said to ask for him); Pullright changed their packaging and price structure slightly this month. The $220 rails are not removable from the bed. If you want your bed completely clear upon removal of the hitch and rails, that requires the Super Rail setup at $564 from BigdiscountRV. It is a heck of a great hitch though.
