We just saw the Cougar 254 EFS at our local dealer. We like the idea of using the rear bunks for storage of bikes, etc especially with the outside access.
Any opinions out there on the Cougar 5th wheels?
Thanks.

We are on our second Cougar and really have not been disappointed. Always a few warrenty items needing corrected but with the great dealer we have it has never been a bad experience. In my opinion the Cougar is an entry level 5ther and meets our needs. This is the fifth year of playing "snowbird" and have many miles over the road.

We have a cougar 245 see our sig. We are very happy with it. It is small and cozy but like the fact it is 1/2 ton towable. If we ever go bigger will probably stay with a Cougar or a Montanna because we have been happy. Any problem we have had it has been something we have done wrong being a newbie that was another reason we got this model to allow us to have a learning curve before we move up to a really expensive 5ver and TV. IMO can't imagine just starting out with a huge truck and huge 5er I know there are those that do but think there is a lot to learn about this hobby. Tim

We have the 290 EFS and have nothing but good things to say about it. The only thing that I would change would be to put heat/ac vent in the toilet area. Love the layout and the quality for price. Talking to other Cougar owners at campgrounds here in Michigan gives us good feedback also.

We have liked ours alot. Minor problems as with any 5'er. All fixed at home. Does this 5'er come with the rear pull out bike rack? I have used ours several times, and it comes in handy.

We love our 2002 Cougar 281 EFS. Like Joann said, the lack of heat up front and in the bathroom. We corrected the bathroom heat issue by running a flex line up through the cabinet beside the radio and added a 4" vent on the wall. Works great now.
Only real problems have been some minor leaks at the top front cap. Enjoy your Cougar...if you get one.

We have a 2003 Cougar bunkhouse and we love it. We put 5000 miles on it in our first year other than some minor warranty work, we have no disappointments. It seems to be holding up under the pressure of a family of 8. Towed it to Montana and back with great ease.

We have the 2002 245 Cougar 5th wheel. Just took a trip from Mass to Georgia and back in a week. Tow with 1/2 ton 03 Dodge 1500 quad 4x4, 5.7 Hemi, 3:92 axle short bed. WOW I usually just go an hour or two on trips with Cougar but this trip really gave my wife and I a thumbs up on these. The Dodge is all its said to be. No doubt. Never struggled. Heat was fine and systems worked well in 26F to 65F variables. One problem was shelving under the kitchen sink does not support any kind of load. I have to place support to be able to store over 5 - 10lbs.
