I remember this weekend camping trip as if were yesterday. Old Fella enjoyed it so much as he and Levi swam and played in the lake. We stayed on campsite #29 which was one of Fella's favorite hang outs. These pictures are special to me as it reminds me of a time when things were magical and exciting.

I loved him a lot, but I think he loved me more.

I am not sure it is possible that Old Fellow could love you more than you loved him, you and Old Fellow had such a special relationship.
Peaches, Suzie and Charlie sure were having a great time, Peaches must think she is in heaven now having such fun times being part of your family.

For my first campaign advertisement in the newspaper I have used the picture of Old Fella and myself in a half page color add. I suppose I may be in a small number to use a dog in an add asking for people to vote for me for a political office . Hope it works---

...so do we! When do we get to see it? I know you probably can't post it here, however.

It will appear in next week's paper. I can post a link to it and I think that is acceptable.

A man in Grand Rapids, Michigan incredibly took out a $7000 full page ad in the paper to present the following essay to the people of his community.
By Jim Willis, 2001
Regarding this very sad and heart-wrenching story. I copied it and emailed it to all my friends and my husband made a comment that made me think.....he said "Wouldn't it have been better for the man who wrote and published the story to have donated $7,000. to a shelter?"
I guess instead of making people cry over a story, how many lives could he have saved with a donation?
Just food for thought......

Reading this makes me think of the situation we are in at this very moment. I just received a phone call about six puppies at a dumpster on highway #80 about six miles from Waynesboro that someone has left to die. They were nice enough to make them a bed out of some rags but did not leave them any food or water. My understanding is they are too small to even find the food even if it were left. The Old Fella rescue is out of mone, and foster homes with no help in sight of finding either. I hate to go out there because I don't know what we can do with them even if I picked them up?
This is so depressing and heart breaking when you see things like this and there is nothing you can do. I wish we had some of that money right now, I know of at least six puppies that could be saved.
