We purchased an Attitude Toyhauler and had wheel chocks installed so we could haul our dirt bikes or our Harleys. The first time we took a test run with the Harleys, I rode in the trailer to check to make sure they were tied down securely. It is a good thing because we went over a little bump and the center front tiedown bracket popped right out of the floor. I radioed to my husband to pull over. When we called the dealer, we were told that the center brackets aren't meant to be weight bearing. Only the side brackets are mounted into the frame.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Do all toyhaulers use tiedown brackets as "decoration"? We are stunned that we made this purchase in good faith, and can't even use our trailer for the reason we purchased it.

I went through the floor of our Raptor and into the steel sub-frame. You might find you are more successful with your tie-down's on the rear of the bikes. On our dressers I tie off to the rear crash bars along with the front tie-downs. The sport bikes I use the shock mounts to tie off to. Never,Never trust what a RV company installs, they think toy haulers are used to carry sewing machines, pet cages, musical equipment, etc. NOT 1000# bikes.
Good Luck!

When I first hauled two motorcycles on a trailer, I ignored the tiedowns and cut slots in the floor so I could connect to the frame. They weren't Harleys, but they were heavy enough. My friend added another strap to Brunhilde using a tiedown and pulled it out while tightening the ratchet.

We haul a Vulcan 2000 in our Attitude, I thu-bolted some attachment points for a Condor chock that covers the center tie down ring, never had a problem and we've traveled some pretty crummy roads, we use a total of 8 straps run to the outer hold downs.

I am not familar with your toyhauler but can tell you that most of the rings that come with the haulers are not strong enough for your harleys. I installed ez-track in ours and bike pro chocks. Just something else to consider.

In my Salem the outside rows were through the frame. The Center row was just into the wood. I installed E track & E track pingle chock. I haul a 2004 FLHTI.

Hey Socal-lly,

I just recently purchased an FS 2300 to haul my Harley around to the rallies. I have not yet had the opportunity to trailer my Fatboy but was a bit concerned about using the tiedown eyebolts that came with the trailer. They seem a bit undersized for my bike. Did you only use the tie-downs that came with your Weekend Warrior trailer? Were they 3/8" diameter eyebolts like on the FS 2300?

When we ordered our toy hauler, we did not have the manufacturer install the tie downs. We were afraid that they would not be correctly placed. So we installed a pingle chock and d-rings to tie the Harley down. That way we knew how they were installed and did not have to worry about them pulling out.
