We are thinking about getting a larger toy hauler and wondering if anyone is pulling the Raptor 3612 with a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive Duramax/Allison? It's a little heavier than we have now and would like some info from anyone pulling this or anything similiar. Unit weighs about 12,400 dry with about 2600 pin weight with generator. Thanks for the input

I'm sure that someone is, however if so they are exceeding the GVWR of the 2500HD.
My original 2004 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab D/A weighed 7200# before I even installed the 5th wheel hitch leaving an allowable Pin weight of less than 1800#

your owners manual will have tow specs, look it up. I like to be at or under 80% of my tow rating for passengers, food, luggage, etc. That seems to be an awful large load for a 3/4 ton, wow, 12,400 dry, and a toy hauler ? A couple bikes/sleds/atv's and you're to 16,000. But there will be alot of people telling you it's fine, that they tow way over the weight rating all the time. But only you will be behind the wheel towing, so look in your manual after you find your axle ratio and check it out.

I have a 3612, and I pulled it with a 2004 2500HD CC SB GMC D/A... Pulled fine, but I believe I was over about 200 to 300 lbs tounge weight. I have to tell you the Rapter is 10,810 lbs dry, and has a 2700 lb hitch weight. Without going into a lot of numbers, you will be over a little. Insurance companies can/will investigate if you were to wreck it, no matter who's fault the accident was.
I thought to myself, no reason to have $100k (tv and th) not insured, and went out and bought a 2006 F350 DRW Tow Boss! Now that Raptor is within my limits!
It's your call, that rig has more then enough to handle it, just don't want to be stuck with a note on a wrecked setup, or in my case paid off pile of junk.

Buy a Ford.... LOL It will pull it. I know Guy's that do it. I would for the short term. Long term look at a bigger truck. If you don't have them you will need air bags or something like them to level the truck with that pin weight.

Tazman:
How does your F-250 handle the setup. We have the same truck as yourself and we're interested in the Rapter 3612DS. The tongue weight doesn't seam to affect the truck?

What are you going to haul inside the trailer?
12,400 dry will be about 14,000 loaded with no toys.
You will be over the GVWR of any 3/4 ton on the market.

jasonlisan The first time I hooked up to the Raptor the truck rear end went down about 4-6 in. the front end was about 1-2in higher than the rear You will need air bags. I’m thinking of adding a leaf spring to the rear end also. Pulling the trailer it’s great, still have a smile on my face from last trip, I love pulling this trailer. The new F-250 and F-350 from what I’ve read and see there’s not much differents. Any good places to ride out there? Thinking of heading that way next year.

The main difference is the little sticker in the door jamb that raises the GVWR of the truck, which may keep you legal if the number is bigger.

I carry a 39' Alfa fifth wheel on a stock Dodge 2500. No helper springs and no air bags. Completely factory stock. The rear end measures to within 1/4" of the front when the trailer is loaded. I measure from the concrete to the highest point in the fender well opening. To look at the truck sitting there, it isn't apparent the rear end is any lower than the front end. Has nearly the same amount of clearance on both fender wells. Hitch weight on the Alfa is ~2700 pounds.
