Hope you get some moisture soon, Jim. I look at other rigs less frequently now Rosie. No setup is perfect and I think my current mode works best for me. I have a good amount of towing to do for racing and need a truck anyway. Was thinking of hauling my Duc in the bed of the truck with the TT in tow. But would also like to have the 4 bicycles. The TT rear bumper cannot handle a hitch. The other option may be to install a front hitch on the truck. compromises....

Shun, you were the 5500th post...pretty cool...I'd celebrate it by taking a day off from work...but don't think I can sell it to the company on such short notice
Strange weather here..54 degrees this morning...seemed cool to me. It got up to 80, suppose to have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow..hope it last longer then that. Temps. in the mornings will be in the mid to upper 50's with highs in the low 80's..not August-like at all for around here..I'll take a break from the heat though.
Hope all of you had a great day. Just working here, thinking about buying some lexan this Saturday and covering the front screen door. I've done it on the last two 5er's I've had, didn't think about doing it to this one until someone started a post in the 5er section on it.
Need a new jig-saw blade and haven't decided which way I'll affix it to the aluminum frame..last time was with velcro...Any suggestions?
Well, going to watch some of the Olympics and hit the rack around 10.
Take it easy, I'll catch y'all later.

Took some measurements this evening, believe I'm going to use some lexan to cover up the screen door Saturday. Y'all take care out there, I'll check in again tomorrow.

Picked up the Tioga today. NICE rig! It sure drives different than the old Class As I had! I thought the Suncrest was nicer to drive than the old Pace Arrow, but this Ford chassis is MUCH better than the GM chassis that was under the Suncrest. I think we will be very happy with this Tioga (I better be, DW says "This is it, there won't be another one!")
DW works three nights, off one, then three more, then we can run away with the "new" motorhome. That gives me time to get things arranged, make the bed, maybe change the trailer hookup (it is 6 pin now, I need 7 pin), and perhaps do some other tinkering. I need to replace the straps on the driver's side window awnings, little things like that. It looks like the spare tire has been hanging there since '95, I guess I should see if the padlock will open, and the release nut will turn. Best to find that out BEFORE I need the tire! Oh, wait, it has Michelins on it, I should never need the spare, right?
I guess I best go to the C forum, and ask where the brake controller can be mounted. According to the Ford incomplete chassis book, nothing can be installed on the lower dash anywhere on either side of the steering column! I also need to find out if this has a metal or wood coach frame. If it is metal, and I can find the studs, I shoulod be able to ground a CB antenna to the frame and get an adequate ground plane, I think. But then, if I can't put anything on the lower dash, where to mount the radio?? Maybe I'll just stick my magnetic mount antenna on the hood, and put my little portable radio on top of the dash, with an external speaker.
I'll figure out something.
Ah, right, Jim, screen door! I need to get something to put on the inside of the screen door so little doggies can't scratch the screen!
Thanks for the reminder!

Have fun with the new Tioga Jon! Watching a little olympics too. I would like to see some of the other stuff though: table tennis, wrestling, shooting maybe. Getting tired of the same stuff. Is that ADD?
Back to Omaha tomorrow. Feeling ready to get back home and get to work. First thing is to get back exercising and work off the few pounds my mother put on me with her cooking.

Why is it everyone blames the new weight on their mom or their wifes cooking? The real culprit here is the mouth. Just picking on you Wing. My daughter and her family should appear here today and then another daughter and her family will be here tomorrow. This house will be rocking over the weekend. Abi is here, has been here since Sunday. She says she is staying cause she wants to see her Aunts. Art will be home tomorrow. He is working in Florida. I need to get my potato salad started. One easy dish for all the kids. You all have a good'un.

Guess I'll jump in here and "bump" us up to see if anyone else will show up. Nice day here today, got up to about 80, mostly cloudy and no rain here at my place. Going to go to Lowes or Home Depot tomorrow and get me some Lexan and cover the screen door on the 5er..We'll have the two granddaughters Sunday, Miss Amber may spend the night with us Saturday, have to wait and see on that one. Hope all of you have a great weekend and hope all of you are well. Take care out there and I'll drop back in later.

Wow, nobody home to answer the phone. Hope all of you are having a good day. It got up to 84 degrees here today and rained in various places, but not here...bone dry and overcast, temp right now is 74 degrees. We have Miss. Amber with us, she'll be spending the night, then we'll take care of her and her sister, Miss Kaylee, tomorrow afternoon. Thought I'd drop in and see if anyone was around, heading back outside to play with little bit...y'all take care, we'll catch ya later.

Three-in-a-row....I'll figure most of my "bud's" are out camping or doing something else this weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend and your all well. Miss. Amber spent the night with us and we're waiting for the DD to arrive with Miss. Kaylee, probably will be around 1:00. It's a beautiful morning here, sunny and suppose to get up to 84...appears we got a little rain last night, not much, but I noticed the driveway was damp and the back in of th dually was wet,(I have a 20'X 22' car port with the back end and sides enclosed and the back end of the dually sticks out a couple of feet .). Anyway, the rain didn't amount to much. They're talking about cutting back on water usage..no washing of vehicles or watering the already very dry yards in the area, if we don't get relief soon, it'll be a lot worse then that...
I noticed diesel has dropped here in the past couple of weeks. I topped off the tank this morning at $4.20. Sad part is, you "feel good" about getting it at $4.20 a gallon!!
Gotta roll, Miss Amber is calling....hope you have a good day, be safe.....I'll catch ya later.

A somewhat busy day. Flushed the sand trap in the main water line from the well, replaced the sediment filter, replaced the heat pump air filter, vacuumed the sludge from the bottom of the heat pump, watered the lawn where the UGS system doesn't do a good job, installed a storm door on the front entry door (I have to readjust the latch, it isn't good enough), sanded the top of the picnic table (I wonder what kind of wood filler I can get to fill those extremely weathered boards? Sanding is still leaving spears sticking up. Maybe I should rent a power planer?). and, of course, threw hay at the horses!
I think it is time to throw my grubbys in the washer, and get cleaned up some.
DW is working tonight. Maybe I'll go out and sleep in the motorhome just for grins.
Maiden voyage for that beasty Wednesday. We might only go to the city camground at Laurel (16 miles), but we goin' SOMEWHERE!
