Hello from Eagle's Peak. Currently damp and raining but it will pass.

Too many things did not go well today so suffice it to say that after a hot shower, several oatmeal raisin cookies and some milk it is time to hit the rack, ROO style!

Adios...

Oh... I should sneak up there!

Gwen,
Get me some of them oatmeal raisin cookies while you're at it!

I'll supply the wood but will leave the fire-meister to you guy's with the , ahem, bigger tong's.
My vote would be for Phil...........

So where is everyone going for labor day weekend?

We're taking my Mom to my Sister's on Monday for a cookout. Other than that, it'll be a typical weekend for us.

Changing jobs next week. That's about the most excitement I'll have until Elk Neck.

We're hanging out and getting ready for Disney next week, leaving Thursday morning. We can't wait

Jay new job?
Same company, just a different position?
Hopefully it's by your decision, if so congrats.
My company was pressing me into a management position, to which I told them, if they force it on me they might as well start grooming someone else since they'll need to be ready in 2 weeks .
I think I got my point across, they've since backed off and are aligning me into a new business unit, more of an internal consulting role. This keeps me technical and away from the extensive travel involved with our normal consulting roles. Only time will tell, even though IT is doing better compared to most, it is still not the best time to be in the job market.

Bonnie,
We've camped a lot at Eagles peak and love it there.
The kids love the swim up snack bar at the lower pool. And with an adults only pool, the kids can splash all they want and not upset the campers w/o kids.
They usually have a lot of activities and most sites are decent sized and shaded. There is an area of mostly seasonals so it keeps a bit of separation from us transients. There is also a field area by the pools that are mixed, but not much shade. Just make sure you have a fairly strong vehicle as the road in is quite hilly, typical for northern Lancaster/ Berks county rolling hills. I've seen on 2 different occasions one of their tractors hauling a camper up the hill, with the TV off to the side of the road.

I really like Eagle's Peak. I get up here 2-3 times a year. Very hilly for towing purposes. The section at the top of the mountain where I always have my sites can be challenging when pulling in or out due to the topography and steep angles. Not a fatal flaw but certainly challenging.

Friendly folks running the place, lots or room and most sites on the upper end are spacious. I took some pics this AM with my new camera but forgot to bring it's USB cord and other cords are too big. I will take some pics with the other camera and post a few. My Webshots has several years worth of pics from here.

The amenities are good. Enough places to get gas and food if need be as well down in town.

LOL I think this is a good idea....we don't have a supply of wood since we don't have a fireplace, but I'm sure he'd be game for the fire-meistering...currently he's still at the tt asleep while I'm down by the pool using wifi..been a fabulous weather weekend so far. Had a blast killing the kids with hiking yesterday, but they loved Dark Hollow Falls! ;-)
