Chris....please make sure that Phil still has some hair after the fire! I'm not sure his head is the right shape for baldness.

Don't make me whip out the photoshop to get an artist's impression... LOL

Looks like I *will* be at Elk Neck since the camper is due back tomorrow. I'm going to have to take a couple of days in Camp Yard to make sure it doesn't leak before going to the gathering.

If anything else (aside from a major defect) shows up, I'm going to save the gas money and fix it myself. At least I'll know it was done RIGHT, done QUICK, and will then have a knowledge of how to do repairs in the future.

Cheers!

Guess you missed it, Bonnie... I had a water leak in the shower at Gettysburg, it spend 5 weeks in the shop, and the next trip (the day it got out of the shop) it had another leak... Since I'm picking it up tomorrow, it will mean of the 14 weeks I've owned it, it will have spent 9-weeks in the shop...

It was a fabulous weekend with perfect weather. Spencer even proclaimed on Saturday: "This is the worst day of my life." This statement proclaimed as he was hiking the uphill return trip from Dark Hollow Falls! LOL Too funny!

Looks like you all had a great time from your pictures. So how was hiking to that trail with your kids? We are going to Luray in October and the scenery looks beautiful but I don't think the hike may be possible with our little ones.

Well, the camper is finally home... I'm going to leave the water connected for a couple of days and see if it leaks.

One thing I have decided is that unless it requires major repairs, I'm not dragging it back to the dealer anymore. The gas, the tolls, and the waiting for weeks has tested my patience and I won't do it ever again. If the water leaks now, I'm fixing it myself.

Hey all you battery experts... Got a question for you...

When I went to pick it up today, the dealer went to raise the tongue jack and found OOPS, they left the battery on for the three weeks they had it and it's now dead as a doornail. I thought deep cycle batteries were damaged when run into the ground, but he said "Just hook up and it'll recharge on your way home". No apology, no offer to replace it, no offer to even charge it, simply an OOPS, it'll be ok.

Naturally, I was a little leery of driving it home since IF it were to de-couple, the emergency brakes wouldn't set. I sat on the side of the road for half an hour idling in the hopes it would at least take SOME power (just in case it's needed).

So what's the verdict? Will it hold a charge or should I buy a new one and send him the bill? It's currently hooked up to shore power for the next couple of days, so I may give it time and then pull the plug to see how long it lasts. Whatcha think?

I ain't Chuck_S but I cannot imagine that the battery is toast. It should charge back up.

Sure, you can hold the dealer accountable to a degree but playing devil's advocate for a bit...

...many trailers are at dealerships over long(er) periods of time. I would not think it is is incumbent upon them to disconnect or maintain the charge. I do understand where you are coming from though.
