I have a 00 Ex Ltd 4X4 with the 6.8 and most options except sunroof. I was wondering does anyone know how much these weigh? I weighed my on the scales loaded down with family cargo and TT but didn't have time to weigh it (or the trailer) alone to figure out how much each weighs. Thanks

Yours should be about 7500 pounds without the people or cargo. The diesel versions are about 300 pounds more.

Hi rowekmr,
I've got the exact same excursion you have. Weighed it with 3/4 tank of fuel and nothing else, came in at 7481 lbs. Without any fuel you should be around 7250-7300 lbs.

My wifes diesel Excursion empty weighs just shy of 8K lbs. She's gone across the scales a number of times in her quest buying rocks for her garden.
Last year ran the X across the scales with the dump trailer, 25,020 lbs!!! With just the X on the scales it was just over 10K lbs.

BTW, pretty sure a sun roof wasn't an option on an Excursion until a few years after 2000 MY.

Mine was 7920 with me and my son in it. It weighs very close to 7700 lbs on it's own.

Needless to say that most X`s towing a TT on the road are very possibly overweight! and that includes mine.
Oh well! she can handle it!

I am not understanding the numbers, on top you said empty just shy of 8K then at the bottom just over 10K. What really got me is the 25,020, is that the GCVW of the X and trailer? If so how does it pull?

Oh and thanks to everyone for saving me a trip to the scales. I am a bit suprised that they weigh that much. My Explorer was 5,000 on a scrap yard scale I just underestimated the difference. My Ex's GCVW was 17.3K when I went on a certified scale so I guess either my trailer weighs more than the company literature (7.5 empty), or I packed too much or I need to cut back on the cheesburgers! Then I guess the 14-15 mpg I get on the expressway empty ain't that bad cause that is the equilvilant of my Explorer pulling a 2K trailer.

Sounds like his dump trailer was loaded to around 17K gross, with about 2K tongue weight. He was no doubt way overweight, but the Excursion is basically the same as an F250/350, so it's not like most light duty SUVs.
