I will be purchasing the 1 year extended warranty through Forest River for my new TT soon for $150.

Does anyone know exactly what's covered or is there something which lists this....I can't seem to find it on their website.

Does anyone have any experience with their extended warranty and have had to use it?

My main concern is does it cover roof leaks/water damage and what not.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

From what I have heard is that it extends the normal 1 year factory warranty to 2 years.

FYI I paid $100 for mine with no haggling. I wish I would have had it included in the contract but I forgot about it and had to add it later. Dealer didn't balk at $100 after the contract was signed...

If you want to save $50 tell them that everyone you know got them for $100...

Forest River now charges $150...no longer $100. I called them to verify that since so many people were saying they only paid $100.

Thanks for the info!

Read the main warranty first, then read the extended......You're realy not getting that much more than what the original warranty is!

This is the list .....
Suspension & Axles (already 2 years from Alko Kober
Frame
Floor
Roof (12 years from rubber manufacturer)
Interior Cabinetry
Fridge (already 3 years from Dometic)
Microwave (already has 2 year)
Toilet (2 years from Thetford)
TV Antenna (?)
Awning (3 years from Dometic)
Range (2 years already)
Water Pump (?)
Water Heater (2 years from Suburban)
LP Tanks (I'm not sure, but I think it's 5 years from Manchester Tank)
Tires (?)
Furnace (2 years from Suburban)
Air Conditioner (3 years from Dometic)
Stereo
Furniture
Slide Mechanism (already has 2 years)
Power Converter (already has 2 years)
TV
Mattress
Windows
Valances
Jack
Entrance door
Steps

That is the EXACT list from FR. What I added in parenthesis is what I know the original warranty is. The ones with question marks have longer than one year warranties, but I can't remember exactly what they are. All the rest are what's legitimatly being extended!

I used mine to have my black water tank replaced and about 1/2 of my exterior graphics. Neither item was included in the official list, but they were covered.

Is this something that you must do through Forest River? I have ordered a 8313SS and who I ordered through told me NOTHING about it but tried to get me to buy their extended warranty for A LOT MORE. I will likely forego the dealer's extended warranty, but for $150 it might be worth it from FR.

How does one get the Extended Warranty from FR?

Thanks in advance.

There is supposed to be a 2nd year warrenty form in your trailer's paperwork. Ours didn't have it. I contacted Forest River and they sent us one. The dealer (RV Direct) was clueless on this matter.

The dealer I bought from, in Erie, Pa also claimed to know nothing of the FR extended warranty, but offered to sell me a $1500 warranty instead.

I opted to decline both.

I purchased the extended warranty for $100 last March 2007. I understand that it is an extra year covering eveything that the original warranty covers. $100 was a reasonable amount for extra year. To date I have had not problems.

One must wonder what else the dealer does not know?

If the dealer's claim they do not know about the extended warranty but are ready and willing to sell their own warranty,

What else are they failing to share or not providing?
