For any lurkers who may be interested, K-Z offers a 2-yr warranty at no additional charge. Jayco used to, I'm not sure of they still do.

IMO, FR and many other RV makers are missing the boat here. Why not just add $150 to the MSRP and offer the second year of warranty standard? Heck, add $500, who's gonna know?

Is this something that you must do through Forest River? I have ordered a 8313SS and who I ordered through told me NOTHING about it but tried to get me to buy their extended warranty for A LOT MORE. I will likely forego the dealer's extended warranty, but for $150 it might be worth it from FR.

How does one get the Extended Warranty from FR?

Thanks in advance.

When we bought our FR, I asked the dealer about extending the warranty. I had learned about it here. He said it was the 1st one they had ever done. They don't offer it nor tell buyers about it because they want them to buy the more expensive extended warranty through them. At least he was honest about it.

I just realized we didn't buy ours yet. I am 80% finished with warranty items bringing the new coach up to snuff.

Did you have to go through the dealer to get the graphics redone, and what happened to them? The side under our outside BBQ and extra shelf is getting marred pretty badly, and I doubt adding foam to the contact surfaces will remove the "stretchmarks" made by these factory installed items.

Thanks

Allen

I am looking at buying a slightly used Palomino Puma 26RLSS. A few people that I talked to said that the Puma models are made by Forest River but I can't find anything on the FR site about Palomino or Puma, and the Palomino site doesn't mention FR at all. Maybe FR just owns Palomino but operates it as a separate company?

The concern I have is that the used Puma includes an extended factory warranty but I haven't been able to find anything about what the warranty covers or how to process a claim. I know where the trailer was purchased and roughly when, but the original owner hasn't found the specific purchase date or warranty papers yet.

In my experience warranties can run anywhere from totally worthless to comprehensive and very valuable, so I want to confirm the details before we make the purchase and learn the hard way.

Also, are most trailer warranties transferrable to new owners if the trailer is sold privately?

I hate extended warranties, but for $150, I would buy it without question.

I appreciate the link SemperFi.

I have already been to that site and it doesn't contain any info about the factory warranty, extended warranty, or claims process. It only has limited information about the company and doesn't mention Forest River at all, which seems odd since several dealers and the Puma trailer owner all said it was made by Forest River.

I can call Palomino tomorrow to see what they provide but I am a little hesitant to rely on an extended warranty when the manufacturer's own site has next to no info about their warranty coverage or company policies.

Has anyone else purchased a warranty from Forest River for a Palomino / Puma? If so, did you receive documentation and/or info about how to file a claim? Thanks again for all the comments and assistance. This forum is great.
