THat hydro inspection must be an Ontario thing as it is not required in other provinces.

From what I have heard, they don't actually inspect the hydro, or at least they didn't when other people on this and other forums had their inspections done at Canadian Tire - it was basically just to make sure that the unit was up to Transport Canada's standards - road worthy. I don't know if CND Tire is supposed to be thoroughly checking the wiring or not. I have to take my vehicle in there shortly so I will ask when I go in.
