Made the turn for home Sunday after 3 days fishing in Valdez. We left Beaver Creek this morning and drove to Teslin Lake. Until we got to Whitehorse, we saw less than 20 vehicles going our way, and not too many more going North. The campgrounds are empty, and the highway's deserted. We are going to Hyder next then home. I hated to leave Alaska...maybe we can work/camp next year...

Our summer adventure has ended - we made it safely back home to NH yesterday, 101 days, 15,000 miles later! 1 flat tire, 1 minor ding in the windshield, 3000 digital pix to review! Thanks to all who we met and offered insight/advice thru this forum (explorenorth, aktraveller, fullmoonoversalem, to name a few!). Safe travels to all - anyone headed to NH/New England give us a shout! ST

123 days for us from MD to AK & return. 1 month at home. Not enough traveling for 1 year for us. In 2 days we are off again. This time 63 days to PA, Ontario, upstate NY, VT, NH, back to MD then south to NC for a short while.

We understand, after the trip to Alaska we are not ready to stop. We are headed to Pennsylvania to the RV show in Hershey.

Have fun!

Our trip was 90 days, 14,300 miles with no problems. No flats, no windshield dings just lots of rain. With two digital photographers we probably have over 6000 photographs to go through. We hope that all who are still traveling have as safe a trip as we had.

Nascarcruzin, Keep an eye out for us at the Hershey show. We won't be hard to find. Alpenlites are a rare breed east of the Mississippi.

Plan to get there Tuesday afternoon & do the drycamp thing on the golf course. See show on Wed & anything else on Thurs. Leave Fri.

It's raining in Seward. We spent two days in Palmer, drove over Hatcher Pass yesterday & the fair. Lots of wind & rain around Portage & on the drive don today. Fall colors were great at Hatcher & Mckinley was very clear when we reached the Parks Highway. A couple of days here then back to Anchorage, put the kids on a plane Saturday & turn toward home on Sunday

Gee, why doesn't anyone else want to stay here? We move into the Cooper Landing position on October 1. We are busy getting prepared, got a 4wd pickup, warm boots and mittens. I still think we will have a better winter here than we would in upstate NY.

Glad for those of you who made it home safely and wish you all a pleasant and safe trip home.

Thanks to you who stopped by to introduce yourselves. It was nice to meet you all.

I would like to spend one winter in Alaska before I die. Possibly rent a house and store the mh. It's my dream.

I wouldn't be on the way home except for the DW and the grandkids. She's having grandbaby DT'S.
