Does anybody have a suggestion for an over night stop between Indianapolis and Louisville or maybe just South of Louisville? We are heading to Tennessee tomorrow night.

So are we except we're heading all the way to Memphis...

There is a Flying J just south of Indianapolis and a KOA north of Louisville in Clarksville, IN...also have a KOA south of Louisville in Shepherdsville, a Pilot truck stop at exit #121, rest area arounf exit #118 and a Love's Truck stop at exit #116

Almost forgot...Cracker Barrel with a nice big parking lot that we have stopped at before at exit #93 in Elizabethtown, KY

Here is one in Louisville and if you can make it to Bowling Green is another, but if I rememeber correct there are a few mom and pop ones along 65 you just have to watch the signs.
Come on down to Memphis...

There some good one nighters from Nashville to Memphis but we love going to Loretta Lynns about an hour west of Nashville.

There is a large rest area at Mile marker 114 which is about 25 miles South of Louisville. There is a Campground at about mile marker 116 Grandma's same exit as Love's truck stop. All of these are easy off and on and safe. Personally I would stay at Loves or the rest area. The price is right.

85Eagle,

Since you are in the area...we usually take I-71 to I-265 to I-65 south but realized that maybe taking I-264 (instead of I-265) may be a faster way through Louisville...how is I-264 when we're towing a 38' fifth wheel? any problems?

Also does the Love's truck stop at exit #116 still have its RV dump/water out front?

Starting south of Indy there is a Pilot at exit 95, Edinburgh Outlet mall at exit 76B, Woods-n-water CG exit 64 then left (south) on S 300 W, Walmart in Seymour exit 50B, Yogi Bear Jellystone in Scottsburg a few miles west from exit 29B and a Love's at exit 16.

I always use I-264 Haven't been on I-265 in years. Regardless if I'm towing or not, I-264 is a good road and shorter. Traffic is a little heavier at rush times. I've go though that area 40+ times a year. Maybe I need use I-265 one time to see if I've been missing anything.

Columbus Woods n Waters CG is nice. It's a former KOA and gets good reviews. We camped there years ago when it was a KOA, no complaints. Not sure if they're open this early, but check - I believe they may be.

Woods n Waters would be open now.

There's also a Walmart Supercenter, Menards, and Sams Club just east of the exit at Highway 46 in Columbus.

Just returned from Texas... 6 nights on the road, prior to the trip I purchased the road atlas from "FMCA". Last year we spent too much time pulling off looking for overnight locations. This atlas shows all Walmarts, Super Walmarts, Sam's and Cracker Barrels within one mile of the interstate. It really, really was worth the money; 20 bucks or something like that. Found Super Walmarts and Sam's with ease, I personally like Sam's best as they are not open 24 hours. Good Luck.
