After a week and half of my dealer fighting a battle regarding the Front Bunkend DeLaminating on my Antigua 215SSO and trying to get Starcraft to cover it. Starcraft won't cover it, says it is out of Warranty. It's 2 years old! Definitely something to think about when I decide to replace it. Very disappointing. They questioned water damage, Dealer said none that they could find and nothing to interior which was good. Options: Replace the bunkend. Do nothing and see if it gets worse then consider replacing the bunkend. wildcard - try to reseat and glue it back down (not really an option for me since I am not too handy).

I guess the question I should have asked is What would you do? i am not even sure how much one would cost. right now I am doing nothing and will probably deal with it since I still really like the Trailer.

Sad to hear that Starcraft isn't covering this issue. Since I consider Jayco/Starcraft "warranty and customer first" companies I am surprised at their response. It sounds like the dealer went to bat for you, too. Have you contacted Starcraft one on one and asked for them to pay the parts and you pay labor? Also, you might want to ask (since you are close) if they would fix it at the factory at a reduced rate? I would chat to the owner of the dealership to see if they can swallow any cost with Starcraft to make this right. A 2 year old trailer should NOT have a delamination issue.

I would get this fixed unless you don't mind the negative visual & valuation issues that arise from delamination.

I would love to see a picture or two as well. I used to work in the composite materials industry for many years and could potentially point you in a direction to fix it yourself or to someone who can help you out.

I have always been an advocate for the use of high performance materials in these applications. Although mistakes do happen during manufacture, these components should not fail like you described. On the plus side, usually the repairs are fairly easy and the materials are readily available.

That is too bad. I had a hot water issue with mine and it was out of warranty as well...they tried to skate the issue, but it was THEM who hooked the water lines up backward on the HW tank!! It made all the anode rod filings get forced in the lines and plug up the faucets. Needless to say...they did fix it.

Did you call and speak to the District rep of Starcraft for your area?? If not you should. Dont make any repairs till "YOU" contact Starcraft.

Too bad. Starcraft used to be a very stand up company. Sounds like they're trading on reputation previously earned. That'll only last so long, and when that bag is empty they'll go the way of Alpha's and others who have closed up shop recently.

That's too bad - I've always heard such good things about starcraft and their dedication to their customers. I knew they were more expensive and less willing to negotiate on price, but I kind of figured it balanced out in the end because the customer was always right in their book. I would call them myself and see what could be done - like Michael said, maybe try to find a happy meeting ground?

Just a quick note: I don't own your brand, but a manufacture is a manufacture. I would go to the manufacture directly. Working in this area has given me the knowledge, they can and will do lots more than a dealer. Just recently, I have come across two different situations with my 4yr HTT. The microwave stopped working, 6 weeks later, I had a check in my hands for $200 to replace it. From the manufacture. Secondly, ripped bunk ends. I had a tiny tear and now the back is torn. Contacted an attorney first, then fired off a letter worded as such that I will not pay for new ends, this is your problem. If the customer/owner did not cause damage due to abuse/neglect, then it is the responsibility of the manufacture. Get your facts together, and contact the manufacture. If you don't get what you want from the person you are talking too, go to their boss and so on. Persistance!! Let us know.

Often a good Manufacturer will cover something that they are not obligated to, like in this case, when they are approached with a reasonable request. Remember that this is a 2 yr old trailer with a 1 year warranty. They have no legal obligation, but it still sounds like a problem that should have not occurred in this length of time.

How serious is it? A photo would help.
