Hubby has a large collection of Louis Lamar novels. No way would he part with one of them.

if you have a truly significant collection (rare, firsts, etc), talk with your local college or university library about a 'special collection' donation. If a unique enough collection, they can be kept together...although not yours anymore, and maybe in the basement stacks, but available for use.
